Game 1 between the 2 real powers this year was just as we expected: Fantastic.

Montreal stormed out to an early 2-0 lead after the first period, much to the delight of Espions fans. LA would later tie it up, as their power play would go 2 for 2. Montreal, with under a minute to go in the 2nd would score on a nasty Blockbuster giveaway. Montreal took the 3-2 lead into the 3rd. A Montreal goaltending clinic would prove the difference. Montreal, being outshot 14-3 at the time in the period, would expand their lead to 4-2. LA would get another, but it would be too little too late. LA outshooting les Espions 42-30, but falls in game 1. Game 2 will be held again in Montreal tomorrow evening, before heading out west for 2.

Montreal 1 step closer. Great time for LA to lose their first game of the playoffs, eh?

Enjoy!

Wow. I don't think anyone saw this coming. A great run for LA has come to a screaming halt in the worst of times. They've dug themselves a 2-0 hole against Montreal.

A pretty even game here took a turn for the worse in the late stages of the 3rd period. We started the first period with an LA goal just 4 minutes in, answering Montreal's game 1 victory. Montreal would however come back to tie 'er up midway through the opening frame. A second period shooting gallery, 17 shots apiece in the second lead to 2 goals for each team. 3-3 going into the 3rd. LA, looking to win the period to tie it up headed back home, Montreal looking to get LA in a very unfamiliar situation. The 3rd was quite the opposite from the 2nd, a slow neutral-zone dominated game here. With under 2 minutes to go, devastation for the Blockbusters. Montreal, much to the delight of the home crowd, takes the 4-3 lead. A flurry in the Espions zone, a total of 5 LA shots in a span of 25 seconds, would fall short. An empty netter would top off Game 2 in Quebec, giving Montreal a 2-0 lead. It's been a quite entertaining series thus far, so here's to hoping that it's a long one.

It's game 3 of the championship final, and we're back in Southern California, home of the Blockbusters, who have only lost 3 games there since Matchday 60. Just like the first 2 games, LA would play a strong game. A different result this time though. Blockbusters Win! Let's take a look.

Not as high scoring as the pair of games in Montreal, but LA will take however they can get a win here. We started off like the first 2 games, hard-hitting, and a quick start for the home team. LA storms out, determined to get back into this series. They would indeed do that taking a 2-0 lead into the 2nd. Montreal is back in the game, it seems, as they come within 1 coming into the 3rd, with momentum on their side, but LA would defuse the fire scoring a goal just 28 seconds off the faceoff opening the 3rd. Montreal would come close, but no cigar, as LA gets back into the series, down 2-1, ready to host game 4 and game 6 if necessary
