dfwabel
There just aren't that many good sports out there without existing deals. There's the NASL, I guess, but even that's a reach.Correct, that is a national reach. Unless the NASL will purchase the satellite time and are able to sell the advertising themselves. But they could do that on CBSSN.

Sodboy13
Yeah, considering MLS was buying its airtime, what, two or three years ago, the NASL's definitely going to have to pony up if it wants exposure. And even then, it's getting tape-delayed on CBS Sports, a couple rungs down the priority ladder from the Arena League and the indoor & outdoor lacrosse league. Minor-league soccer's focus should be far, far away from trying to land a TV deal. Island_Style
This is why the D4 move will be interesting to watch. College sports is a great way to fill content. How much cash will they throw to get more markets for the Big12 and Big10.

Tell that to The Longhorn Network or that FCS (Fox College Sports) channel. Also there are only three major deal still out there to be had in the 2010s: MLS (starting in 2015), B1G (starting in 2017), NBA (starting in 2017).FS1 is a boon for two organizations: The Big East and the UFC. Then again the rights for the "new USFL*" and the A-11 Football League are still out there for everyone. *-To all you USFL lovers, read the blog. College football and basketball has been an excellent filler for ESPN. The problem with Longhorn network is it is only Longhorn crap. No one wants to play on there. Now if it were the Big12&10 network it would have been more successful.

The ACC caved to almost every FSU demand it could. Hence why Louisville is in the ACC instead of UConn. And no, it isn't done.
