IceJerseys has authentic Team Canada jerseys. US$450 blank, $514 customized. Seriously.

Thankfully Nike made this easy on me by making the sweaters look terrible. Always thinking, those Nike folks are.

We're wearing sweat pants to the opening ceremony?

Fleece/Sweatpants have been part of the US opening ceremony uniform at least back to the ROOTS debacles in Torino '06 and SLC '02.

Can't exactly wear a blazer and white dress shorts/pants in snowy February like they do for the Summer Olympics. I love the navy over white that the US returned to in 2000, 2008 and 2012.

The IIHF has put up their Olympic Hockey website for both men and women. Click on the country flag at the top and you can see the jersey for each country playing. Slovenia's is blue, green and white.

Oh thanks for these 2 links!! Been wondering about the jersey looks for the teams for the Olympics... been doing black and white logo sheets for teams but trying to confirm a few things for sure.. now I can get to work on that and see which logo is doable in black and white only...

The mens Slovakia and USA white are exactly the same.

Pinstripes on SVK, and lighter colours, but wow, Nike.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

Few things after seeing the uniforms in live action:

While every single team continues to use stock Agency FB for their nameplates, some are using a new block font for the numerals. And when I say "new", I mean "three or so existing block fonts thrown together into a set". The "1" has the curve in the top serif like Stahl's, the "4" has that weird, superfluous top serif, and the "2" is sans-serif.

Finland has their own numeral font, and it's actually rather nice.

Just like they did with the Seahawks and Jaguars, Nike has given the sleeve/shoulder numbers one less layer/outline than the large back numbers. This is Nike's Thing Now, and it makes even less sense than it does on football jerseys, because everything on these hockey sweaters is screenprinted.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

This might not be the right thread, but I finally got my USA Hockey sweater from Vancouver customized by Exclusive Pro Sports this past week. I requested my state (Commonwealth, technically) and its order of admission to the Union for the name and number, a principle I picked up from people who get US Soccer kits customized.

I'm very thrilled with how it turned out!

I gotta say, the German jerseys look pretty awesome. Finland looks better than I expected, and Switzerland looks alright. Sweden looks like Sweden, which is a good thing.

Russia is strange with the back half of the yoke missing, the US is bland,

The real surprise is Japan. I did not expect them to look that good on the ice, but the simplicity, the heavily-serifed font, and the little bits of red really work well together. It proves that you can have a Japanese hockey team without a big red circle on the front.

I think these opinions will go downhill when Russia wears their whites and I get to watch the Czechs play.

I'll respect any opinion that you can defend.
