2014 MLB Changes (logo, uniform wise, etc)

The "MLB The Show" video game has used Heyward in that same uniform combination in promo pieces. I've wondered if the hat will find its way into the usual mix of gear since the colors match the current shades rather than the lighter 1970s tones. I wouldn't mind that if it was used sparingly. I think it's a nice look overall.

I don't know why they are using that Braves hat in promotional stuff because it's not even in the game, only the 1970's one is.

Are their any new uniforms in the game, or are they all the same as last year? I'm interested in the PS3 version, as it's the console I own, but from the trailers I've seen the game looks the same from last year for the PS3.

Either way, teams like the Astros had no business going with that look. Hey - we're space age! So we're going to wear classic pinstripes with an old-style western script.

I agree. It was as stupid as the Toronto Blue Jays wearing black.

What was stupid was the large amount of black. It should have been mostly that gorgeous blue, with some black and gray. Get rid of the ridiculous cap logo, change the script, and you would have had a winner.

This wasn't a bad set, but the team erred by making graphite and black the dominant colors. Change the numbers and name to blue with a graphite outline, and it'd look better. The graphite hat was one of the better hats in the league, but only lasted for a couple of years.

It would have looked better, but I wish the Blue Jays could have skipped that era and the 1997-2003 one and gone straight from the World Series uniforms to what they have now.

Sometimes you need to give in to lunacy to appreciate good decisions. If they Blue Jays had just updated the World Series set, there would be people saying "I wish they'd be innovative" and such. However, after getting a crappy revamp of the classic set in the Clemens era and then the steaming pile the Jays wore in the aughts, we realize how poor those choices were, which makes us like the current set even more. I mean, you'll still hear a few random guys on this board say that graphite set was too beautiful for this world, but I don't think we'll really hear any sizeable group suggesting that the Jays should do something wild for a good long time.

Yeah that Jays set was absolute trash. So bland. I agree that they could've gone with a no-red set if done properly, but they focused on black/charcoal too much.

I personally thought that this was a great road uniform, although I'm with everyone else in that the black sleeves & hats ruined it. Changing them to the light blue color could've worked.

I really liked the graphite caps, but there was not enough emphasis on the blue, which really hurt the identity. The original set was cool at first but got on my nerves toward the end

I loved the graphite caps. I just didn't like black and graphite as the primary colors for the Blue Jays.

Amid everything else that was awful about that Blue Jays era, I have to give a shout to the font used for names and numbers on the home jersey. So, so, so inappropriate for a jersey.

So bad that the later road jerseys used a wholly different font -- which is typically a pet peeve of mine, but in this case I may have to let it pass.

Seriously. I'm kinda OK with a different wordmark, since that's relatively common in baseball (though usually the road would have a more plain-basic lettering style if that's the case), but if they're designing a whole different numeral set, then that's an indication that something is drastically wrong with their main set, and it baffles me that they didn't fix it.

He might have done all of the promotional photos for the various companies at one time, so he just wore the same thing for all of them.

Plus that's the BP hat, so MLB wants to showcase that as much as possible. Gotta move product.

I grew up to the Yankees playing the Blue Jays in those uniforms so I will always associate the Blue Jays to those uniforms. I actually like the wordmark of it.

Anyway, can we go ahead and call those uniforms the Vernon Wells era uniforms?

I always think of Roy Halladay first and foremost when it comes to those uniforms, but Wells isn't a bad choice either.

Question: are these made in China or in the US? I want to get one but I don't like ordering Chinese made ones because I never know what size to get. The sizes vary so much when they are made in China.
