2014 MLB Changes (logo, uniform wise, etc)

There's not a single thing I like about the Rockies' identity. Not one.

I kinda like the CR logo (key word, kinda), but the rest can burn.

Drop the black for green (similar to their All Star Game BP jerseys) and change just about everything else on the set and they may look decent.

The all-black Rockies hat is one of my favorites - it's a thing of beauty. I hate that the front script on the jersey uses metallic silver thread, but the front numbers have a gray outline. The purple pinstripes are great in person, but it's tough to make out the purple from a distance.

The Rockies set is great from 2 feet away, but terrible on TV.

I do wish they brought back black alternates like they had in 1993, which were similar to the BP jerseys they used the first few seasons.

I had no idea the vests had been gone since 2011.

They are pointless with black undershirts. Need to bring back the purple... as they were intended to be worn.

All that said. It's the Rockies. Non-traditional is fine for a team born in 1993.

They aren't wearing the two-tone helmet like they did the last time they wore these. And the caps are not the all black ones either.

Son of a whore! I finally looked at all the Rockies games, and changed their uniform image to only reflect the purple alt because it seemed that was the only one they were using, and a week later they break these back out. Something about the piping and the pallet makes these look like someone's idea of what people in the future would be wearing. That being said, vests aren't necessarily abhorrent and are a classic part of the history of the Pirates and Reds. It's okay.

Those are purple!!! It's been years since I drew the original Rockies uniform images, and I just checked and obviously knew then because I drew them purple, but I could have sworn I always thought they were black. Even looking at pictures and footage, I find it nearly impossible to tell they are purple.

Incorrect. They actually wore it on 8/3, 8/8, 8/10, 8/12, 8/13, 8/15, 8/16, 8/19, 8/27, 8/29, 9/2, 9/4, 9/6, 9/7, 9/10, 9/17, 9/19, 9/24 & finally for the last time on 9/25. All 19 of those games were after he was traded.

Thanks Darth. Truth be told, I gave up on the Rox that night in July when my phone notified me we traded Ubaldo. I was sick of feeling like a fan of a team that essentially acts as a farm team for the rest of the league. This is the first season I've watched them since 2012, I like this current roster but I just know the Yankees are going to come knocking for Tulo to replace Jeter and Cargo will probably be a Dodger.

Sorry for the mini rant. Back on topic, I agree with KCChiefs fan (As a Broncos fan never thought I'd type that sentence lol) I should hate those vests with a fiery passion, but there's just an aura of magic around them. Rocktober, Ubaldo's nono, Troy's unassisted triple play, Cargo's walkoff grand slam, something awesome happens every time they wear those things.

Since 2006 and every season since then, the Rockies always wear the purple brim caps on the road and the all black caps at Home, so this isn't a surprise or anything new.

The Braves are wearing their new alternate uniform for the first time tonight. They are wearing the regular home pants and the cap with the tomahawk through the "A" that was introduced with the previous red alternate. I personally wish they would wear the regular home hat without the tomahawk since the uniform does not have one.

Can the Braves just put all their alternates in a big-old bonfire? They really don't need any alts with their amazing home/road set (which would be even better if the road cap was eliminated).

I don't think anyone's ever claimed that the tomahawk mark is offensive, but you have to admit that combining Native American imagery with blatant pro-USA military imagery is in poor taste, considering we essentially slaughtered and/or forcibly relocated hundreds of thousands of native Americans.

I consider these Braves alts to be an upgrade simply because they are limited to five times a year. The old reds were my least favorite of the set. Addition by subtraction. I do wish they mothballed the tomahawk hat and went strictly with the home and road hats. Unlike some, I enjoy the all navy cap. I would also be down for some occasional game use of the BP cap with the home set.

Something about the Braves home set has gotten stale to me, though. I love the cream throwbacks and rate them the best of their unis. I think a road inspired version of that could look great. Perhaps a concept is in my future, though I've never done a baseball concept.

I've toyed with ideas of going with the styling of the cream alternate and another direction of reviving the look of the Hank Aaron unis. All that thick piping on the standard sets is looking a little aged, I think.

I'm not a fan of the new Braves alts. It's looks very generic, almost like the cheap NFL jerseys that the department stores sell. Maybe they would look better if they put numbers on the front left side like the creams. I agree on dumping the tomahawk hats as well. There's no reason why they should wear the hat if there isn't a tomahawk on the jersey.

I'm the opposite on the cream uniforms. I like them but after 2 years I feel they've run the course. However if they keep them that's fine too. I wish they would go back whites/greys with 1 hat but with the money they make on apparel there's no way that's happening again.
