2014 MLB Changes (logo, uniform wise, etc)

I agree with what another poster said - if I had to bet, I'd bet on maroon-white-maroon.

They definitely would not have used any light blue, because a.) they weren't using that color at all by that time, and b.) it was never officially one of their colors, and didn't start showing up on merchandise until the relatively recent "retro craze" started.

Those caps were so rare. I'm not even sure if the team wore them in spring training, or if they just wore the '91 version without the logo. Finding a picture of the back of someone's head from spring training that year might be the only way to ever know, because there's zero chance of ever finding one of those caps for sale.

Rare, but I managed to snag one from Wayne Sporting Goods in 1992. I'd still wear it if my wife wasn't so put off by its filth. Anyway, I read this and then took a couple of pics. Check this out.

God heat hat is so friggin filthy- the sweatband would cause breakouts just from trying it on!

You can clean the cap, a product called totally awesome and a dishwasher but I think this cap deserves to be mercy burned!

Your ignorance amazes me. First off, dishwashers absolutely destroy hats (trust me, I tried it before). Secondly, this is a very rare and hard to find hat. Mercy burning" it would be like selling a rare jersey like the 1980s-90s Pittsburgh Pirates road jersey on Ebay for a dollar.

You must be a moron than, I've washed many caps i the dishwasher- all have survived.

I'd burn the hat just for being a Phillys hat, I was being kind when suggesting to clean it.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.

I award you no points- and may god have mercy on your soul.

*You must be a moron, then.

Baseball does nothing to appeal to kids but this is a start.

Isn't it amazing, how quickly a parody account becomes old and tiresome?

That's why I always try to reinvent myself as an author. I moved on from capturing suburban dissatisfaction to capturing bourgeois malaise.

I don't like to use the internet, but when I do, I post at sportslogos.net and hope that no one can contradict me.

Guys, personal attacks aren't exactly cool.

Except when they're from you and directed at Legend.

If I've made personal attacks against anyone, then I apologize. I try to draw a very clear distinction between attacking a post ("that is a ludicrous thing to say") and the poster ("you are ludicrous for having said that").

Maybe I haven't always made that distinction clear. And if Legend feels personally attacked in any way, I'll apologize to him directly. He and I haven't always seen eye to eye, especially on the Beetle Bailey drag shows, but I don't want any bad blood between us.

I thought "parody" accounts were a violation of the rules.

Also did those two really just get in a fight over a dirty 20 year old hat? Lol

As for baseball, I can't even begin to describe how much I love that SF throwback. Such great attention to detail, it really is a shame it will only be worn once.

Hahahaha, I guess we did just fight over a dirty 20 year old hat…

If done right, you can clean the cap in the dishwasher-

It isn't hard to do it right, but it takes some semblence of common sense.

I'll see if I can find a dirty "bleeped" up wool hat to show the process with.

The full D Backs look that'll be worn on August 30th vs Colorado. I may have to splurge for an authentic of that jersey.

And it appears they correctly made the Diamondbacks cap cream, rather than regular white. Nice catch if that's the case.

It's not cream, it's white. I picked one up a few days ago at Hat Club. It's also not technically the right logo, either. When the D Backs first announced all of their branding information, they were supposed to wear white caps as their primary home caps, and the first ones released had that huge A logo. Some time along the line they switched to the purple caps as their primary caps, and the white hats they did wear on the field quite sparingly, had the regular smaller A logo.
EDIT: Looking at it closely, that cap that's hung up may have the proper sized A logo. If that's the case, you can chalk that up as another D Backs on field authentic that Hat Club got wrong.

That is one of the most beautiful hat-jersey combos I've ever seen. I too, believe I may have to save my money for that…

You know, after looking at it closer and comparing it to my other white New Era poly 59Fifty (Seattle Mariners 2013 throwback, 1909 Seattle Turks), it is in fact cream. It's a VERY subtle cream, though. If not for comparing the two side by side, I would've never noticed that. It's MUCH closer to regular white than to the Giants cream, for example.

I already own an unhealthy amount of Diamondbacks gear (for a Dodgers fan), but I may need to be adding more.

the worst helmets design to me is the Jacksonville jaguars hamlets from 1995 to 2012 because you can't see the logo vary wall

They've sucked me (a Giants fan) in as well. Their throwback gear is just awesome.

It's a shame. Those Brewers caps had to be scrapped because they didn't match Majestic's cream jerseys. Had they been cream instead...
