I was dissapointed to see Jeter announce his retirement, now I'm sick of him and just want to see him go away. Not his fault, but that's the way the Yankees have ruined this whole ordeal.

After seeing the teams' six-month fapfest over MO, I wouldn't be surprised if he announced his retirement before the season in hopes of similar treatment.

OF COURSE he did.

The Indians and Royals wore 1974 throwbacks yesterday...

Beauties. Such a shame nobody uses thick, bold piping anymore.

Here's an example of very well executed pullovers. Two teams that could rock pullovers without looking like 70s imposters.

There's still no reason for them not to be buttoned.

Phillies, Bears, and new NYFC fan.

Those look exactly like they came out of the '70s or '80s, as does every pullover uniform.

What supposed advantage did pullovers have that made teams switch? And if there was an advantage, why could pullovers not have been Nader out of flannel? No stretchy neck?

What supposed "advantage" do buttons have? What athletic wear is made out of flannel? If buttons are so advantageous, why is baseball the only sport to utilize them?

Oh god, we got him started.

Baseball and button downs go back over 100 years. Its meant more as an aesthetic rather than function. Pull overs are for little leagues with Chico bail bonds on the back and everyone wearing a number from 1-14.

Would you wear a pullover to work in an office. I mean a pull over dress shirt? Button downs give the appearance of professionalism that is lost in many sports today.

And while I'm sure your dying to spew your love for all things button-free and lazy (Sansabelt Pants), I regret to inform you that I won't oblige you in conversation other than this post.....

as you simply have worn out your welcome.

The advantage to buttons or no buttons... Was this really asked? Dear Lord have we fallen this far in thought process that someone asked it and someone's rebutted a question on the other side. It's decoration and preference, was it that difficult to figure out?

You never answered his question, by the way.

Plus, as someone who's worn both types of jerseys, I can honestly that yes button-ups are far more comfortable than pullovers. Pullovers don't breathe like button-ups do. And that is important when you consider that baseball is played every day in the dead heat of summer. Also comparing the uniforms of baseball to other sports is illogical as one sport has nothing to do with another.

Why is hockey the only sport that has laces in the jersey? Why is basketball the only sport to utilize tank tops?

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

My point was that the pullovers didn't become a thing until the 70s, then caught on very quickly. They also didn't cone about until the jerseys were made of double knit.

So it's almost like someone was sitting around and was like "finally! We can lose these blasted buttons!" I'm assuming there was some reason they cable about in 70 or 71 and not before, and the change in materials leads me to believe it's more than just a style thing.

Just curious, but has anyone heard if the Braves are keeping the military appreciation jerseys past this year? They are listed online as "2014 Alternate Jersey" and I just wasn't sure if they were keeping them just for this year or for multiple years to come.

Dont look that much into it

Pullovers: unsafe at any speed.

Ahhh, you are absolutely on fire lately with some of these references.
