Sport
Why does Felix Hernandez's fan club use blue and yellow?I think the Mariners knocked it out of the park when they changed in 1993 and I don't think they need to make a change ever again. The various alternates can come and go, but the basic look and colors should stay. Also, they've worn teal and navy blue for going on 22 years. They wore yellow and royal blue for only 16. hawk36
Being a Mariners fan, I have thought that the past several seasons were a sneak preview of a welcomed brand change to when the Mariners looked their best. Be it giveaways like this t-shirt and the colors of the 'King's Court' give me hope that there is indeed something to look forward to.That double outline wordmark never looked good to me. I did like their original and do like the throwback caps without the double outline trident. That being said, teal and navy, to me, work best for the Mariners as it falls in line with the Seahawks and Sounders general scheme. And really, the color combination they chose (that particular green, navy and silver) is one of the best in the game. It's a great color set. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
The_Admiral
As great as those colors and logos were, the M's have been in such a deep rut for so long that I wouldn't mind if they went back and dreamed it all up again. Consider that the various Griffey/Unit/A-Rod teams most associated with the uniforms still never won a pennant and have been pretty much awful since, combined with the progressive identities the Seahawks and Sounders have fostered, and it's getting hard to say they should live in 1993 forever. I don't know what they should try, but they should try something new. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The teal billed cap's already there so they could just start wearing it at home and presto, a top-tiered set. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
The_Admiral
I don't know. It's not a bad set in and of itself, but there's just such a staleness setting in with the Mariners to me. I wouldn't necessarily change for the sake of change, but if I were presented with something interesting that could re-energize the base a little bit, I'd probably pull the trigger. It's hard to defend standing pat for 20+ years when you're not winning games and running the whole baseball-ops side of the organization into the ground. Even the Cubs change their road uniforms and secondaries from time to time. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The Cubs haven't had a decent road or alt uniform in decades, thus the constant changing. Notice their home uniforms have not really changed in a long time and even when it did it was minimal. What you're advocating the Mariners do is in fact the definition of change for the sake of change. They look great so there's no need to change anything just the teams itself has been unsuccessful. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall

If something knocked my socks off, I'd want them to go with it. If I were presented with nothing but stupid royal/yellow concepts, I'd keep what they have. It's hardly a pressing concern for them to change their look, but it's starting to show some age, accelerated by the Mariners' refusal to be good at running a baseball team. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
jp1409
Finally a cap shade that will match the rest of their uniforms... New era dark royal doesn't really fits with anything. Are the Dodgers and Rangers using the same blue as the Cubs for everything but their caps? Dodgers on-field hats also seem to be darker than evertyhing else they wear. FiddySicks
Awesome, much needed change for the Cubbies. I'll definitely try to pick one up if they're available at Mesa Riverfront this Spring Training! Rays
Love the fact that the MLB batter logo matches the jersey colors, i belive the NBA once had that too, the "Jerry West" logo on the front of jersey and shorts were the same as the uni, so the spurs for instance had a black white silver logo, or is my mind playing tricks on me ? So the parts that were normally white (player and rectangle outline) were gold, and the rest was the jersey color.
Gothamite
Awesome, much needed change for the Cubbies. I've been wishing that the Brewers would move in the opposite direction, from the light royal to the dark. Maybe this'll make it more likely. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database!
