What a confusing identity They are just meddling & tinkering with a perfect set just for the sake of sales. I was really hoping the cap would just be for the alternate jerseys, but it looks like it's actually going to be the full-time road.The Giants alts are downgrades as well. The previous orange uniforms weren't that great, but they weren't this mess. The Giants are MLB's black team; the Orioles are orange. Also, I notice in the game screenshot that Bumgarner is wearing the orange bill cap. Previously San Francisco only wore them on Sunday games. I saw the new cap labeled as the "Road" on MLB.com, but now that I look around in their shop some more, I see the old road cap for sale. Maybe there's still hope. Packid Posted February 14, 2014 Share Posted February 14, 2014 My biggest problem with the A's hat is not just that there's white; it's that the designer specifically went out of their way to emphasize the white by adding the gold outline. I personally liked the gold logo on the old road cap, but I don't think there'd be this much dislike if the A's were to just start wearing the homes full-time. My problem remains that the gold outline is so thick it obscures the actual letters. The "s" becomes a rectangular blob, even in that close-up product photo. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! But at least the three logos you pointed out were a single color (Astros don't count. That's BY FAR the most bush league look in Major League Baseball). If the A's were to wear their home hat exclusively then that's one thing. While I'd miss the road cap, at least it's a professional looking cap. This A's cap makes the main focus a color that's not even on the road jersey, and outlines it with a color that doesn't contrast at all. It's a terrible cap and it'll be a real shame if it's the new full time road cap. I guess it'd look ok with the new green alt, but barely. The only different color orange I can recall is on the BP hat, which I own.
