Brian in Boston 2,541 Posted February 7, 2014 The Omaha Storm Chasers have announced that June 7, 2014 will be "What If? Night" at Werner Park. The team will take the field sporting specialty jerseys of the Omaha Commanders, one of the finalist identities that lost out to Storm Chasers when the franchise rebranded from the Royals moniker.
hjones13 17 Posted February 7, 2014 Don't know if it's been posted yet, and also won't be playing until next year, but Biloxi has received a Minor League team from Huntsville. As a coast guy, it's a pretty exciting time to be from the Gulf Coast. No word on team name or logo yet though.

Seriously, how awesome does "Biloxi Brewers" sound?
pcgd 272 Posted February 7, 2014 Well I hope the "Huahuas" alternate comes out in year two. Missed opportunities...
Digby 6,128 Posted February 7, 2014 The concept of a "What If? Night" reeks of team staffers who desperately need someone to say no to them.

Seriously, how awesome does "Biloxi Brewers" sound?Local newspaper poll has Seabees as the top name. I like the Fighting SeaTurtles proposal myself. Basically the only thing official about the name is that it will include Biloxi.http://blog.gulflive.com/mississippi-press-sports/2014/01/seabees_fighting_seaturtles_wh.htmlIt will be cool to have a second team in Mississippi. The venue in Pearl is very nice, and hopefully this one will be too.

Rubber Ducks takes up a lot of real estate. And push either the 'electric' blue or the black. Can't have both, especially if those cap/jersey combos are solid.
waltere 537 Posted February 11, 2014 elpasounis1.jpgelpasounis2.jpgThat number font is absolutely hideous. Also not a fan of the word marks either. The fact they've squeezed the smaller letters into the bottom curve of the S at the end of 'Chihuahuas' makes it look really unbalanced, both the individual letter and the wordmark as a whole. On 'El Paso' the angle the bottom of the P is at makes my eye think the whole wordmark should be slanted like that, but its not.

bosrs1 1,288 Posted February 11, 2014 Ballpark Business is reporting that the Nogales Desert Ghosts of the all-but-defunct independent American West Baseball League have apparently been resurrected as the Yuma Desert Ghosts of the proposed indy Western Association of Professional Baseball. Not a logo I'd have chosen. Looks more like a trouser snake than a desert ghost.

That first logo, with some modifications of course, wouldn't be a terrible logo for the Arizona Diamondbacks. But yeah. That second logo looks like a :censored:.

lilben777 155 Posted February 12, 2014 So the original logo set was blue & green, the hats are tan & brown, did they not go with that other logo??
bosrs1 1,288 Posted February 12, 2014 So the original logo set was blue & green, the hats are tan & brown, did they not go with that other logo??Who knows with a fly by night operation like that. They could still be using both. Assuming of course there is even a team. I've yet to see any other confirmation of the league they claim they'll be a part of other than what the Desert Ghosts themselves have released regarding the Western Association.

cappital92 46 Posted February 13, 2014 To celebrate their 30th (and I believe last) season at Pfitzner Stadium, the Potomac Nationals will be wearing throwbacks of their previous campaigns as the Prince William Pirates, Prince William Yankees, Prince William Cannons, and Potomac Cannons. Not gonna lie, it'll be fun to see plum and this guy back for a night or two.
