The Big Ol' Counterfeit Jersey Thread

Recommended Posts

Oh and another thing:

Even when you buy an authentic from an official seller- you're still not getting a legit on-field jersey. They don't have the draw-string sleeves or anything like that. So you're kind of getting duped anyway in to thinking you're getting the real deal when you aren't.

Exactly. I have a hard time believing that an "authentic" is really worth the $300 price tag if it isn't even on the field. You can't tell me that a real player's jersey costs more. If so it would cost an astounding amount to dress a football team.

Not $300, but gamers definitely cost more than authentics to produce. One big reason is that there's more overall material used, ever seen the length of football jerseys? I have a 42 (M) that runs almost to my knees. The differences in striping or how the numeral/nameplate is affixed is also of a higher quality in gamers. This doesn't even get into the new designs of Pro Combat or TechFit where the on-field jerseys have 'advanced' material. I know most of that is marketing BS, but not all.

But if I ever dropped $300 on a jersey I'd want the on field product. I don't see the reason to pay more than $100 for an "authentic". If replicas are $75 and use the same materials/cut then they are seriously jacking up the price of the tackle twill items, which is ridiculous.

The first Leafs new third knockoffs have hit the market. Nice job with the logo.

Never ordered a jersey from China before, but I finally decided to buy a Seattle Sonics Kevin Durant road jersey. It's coming tomorrow, I'll be sure to post pictures.

You shouldn't necessarily expect a great product; in fact if there is nothing wrong with it I would say that is a bonus. But with most things you get what you pay for. Either way at least you didn't spend a lot.

No. Fake fake fake.

Yes. It's just a couple of years old. Reebok changed the branding on their tags from "Rbk" to "Reebok" after the first year of the Edge overhaul, and then eliminated the vector logo this year. So it's overstock from a couple of seasons ago, not a counterfeit.

Agreed that "authentic" doesn't mean "on-field", but you'd look pretty ridiculous walking around in an "on-field" jersey, especially in the modern cuts. It'd be all bunched up at the shoulders to accommodate shoulder pads, and have cap sleeves like a "girly-tee".

EDIT: what's with the new restriction on number of quote blocks you can have? I had to delete a perfectly relevant block of text in order to post this.

You never posted pics! (Unless they're in a different thread.)

Yeah, I forgot until a few days ago when I remembered. I'll try to get some form of picture up soon, sorry about that!
