Anubis2051
Yesterday, Team USA was on the Today Show to show off the non-athletic gear (the stuff made by Ralph Lauren). While the uniforms were okay, the big news is that, unlike with London, all the gear made by Ralph Lauren and The North Face will be made in the USA. Check out the video here. Some photos of the gear:

TheStoicPaisano
When the London set was made in China.I think it was only an issue with Lukas (and blowhard politicians), who is predictably bitching about logo creep on the Sochi Set.
Waleslax
I'm curious how many people in support of buying knockoffs in the "big 'ol counterfeit" thread will be happy to hear this and/or upset if the companies made team USA gear off shore. TheStoicPaisano
Those peacoats are beautiful. Too bad they aren't for sale.15 November on polo.comNow, there is some stuff that doesn't make it to retail, but given the splash page features the peacoat and sweater, those are safe bets to release. I'll guess $895 for the coat and $395 for the sweater.
vman
I really liked those turtleneck sweaters until I saw the gaudy USA Flag and Olympic rings on the back. They completely ruin what is otherwise a great sweater. Most of the line seems decent and of high quality, although rather simple and uninspired. The belt has got to be the tackiest thing I've seen in years though. It looks like something designed and made in a Chinese sweatshop.
Shadojoker
I gotta cop me one of those peacoats!! Too bad they probably retail over $700 a piece.
STL FANATIC
I dislike how big the polo logo is, but that's about it. Not really even an issue of logo creep, I just don't think it looks good. Draws too much attention. Maybe that is logo creep, I dunno.

Draws too much attention. Maybe that is logo creep, I dunno. The logo is oversized for tv and promotional purposes and not necessarily for fashion reasons. They do the same thing for the tennis US Open uniforms. If the same clothing was designed solely for retail the logos would be about 1/2 that size if not smaller. GuitarPunk2512
lol the Olympics has become such a joke. weird fashion statements, pointless competitions, their isn't a real appeal to the Olympics anymore. give me the MLB, NHL, and NFL anyday over the olympics

walkerws
The whole to do about the 2012 uniform ensemble is that when it's a national team, the first priority is generally to have an American company provide the apparel from American companies. Unfortunately Russell Athletic is the only major us apparel manufacturer that could conceivably do this. The outfits worn into the games are expected to follow suit. The made in China was the “major” issue I believe because had it been made in other non-threatening markets, it’d have been seen politically as palatable. I did pick up a nice cream cardigan from the London Games, you have to be within five feet to read the '2012' script, so it was a no-brainer at the reduced price point.
