Yeah, the ACC has really been exposed. What a mess of a conference this year.

This just makes Coach K even stupider for lobbying for additional ACC slots into this year's tournament.

We should really save this GIF for when the Stanley Cup Playoffs roll along.

I'm just glad Kentucky is on the other side of the bracket. The odds are really long of it happening anyway, but the possibility I fear more than anything else is a fourth Florida/Kentucky meeting with the 'Cats FINALLY beating Florida in the game that matters most. That would be excruciating to deal with, and I fear it because Kentucky is too talented to remain Florida's bitch forever this season.

I don't like Louisville at all for several reasons, but they really need to be the ones to slow Kentucky's roll.

We match up great with Louisville (we beat them on Dec. 28th) and we are hot right now and I want Florida in the Championship game as I want revenge!

BTW, the SEC is 6-0 in the tournament, so much for a weak conference!

Florida is playing the kind of schedule that a #1 overall seed should and Tennessee had to navigate a "gauntlet" of an Iowa team that has played like crap since January, an overseeded UMass team, and a 14 seeded Mercer team. Only Kentucky has had a challenging schedule, so don't break your arm patting yourself on the back. And that doesn't exactly mean that the other 11 teams in your Conference would have done well this weekend.

That's it for the NCAA tournament until Thursday, March 27.

Between now (Monday) and then (Thursday), the other tournaments (ranked below in order of strength of field) are scheduled as follows:

NIT - for 32 teams not in NCAA tournament (NIT = "Not in Tournament"), Round of 16 and quarterfinals will have been completed by March 27th. Florida State, SMU, SoMiss.

CBI - for 16 teams not in NCAA or NIT, Quarterfinals and semifinals will have been completed, *the Finals are best-of-three and will start March 31st. Radford, Princeton, Penn State.

CIT - for 32 teams not in NCAA, NIT, or CBI, the schedule is not set in stone, but we will see the completion of three quarterfinals games by March 27. This is the tournament that Yale and Towson are killing/scrolls across the bottom of the screen on CBS.

I wouldn't bet against Pitino in the Sweet 16 nuordr, as he never lost in that round, but you're right about their some of their advantages against L'Ville. They simply don't have the size to compete in the post. I think the Cardinals having championship experience and a talented defense (defense wins championships right?) is going to carry the day against the Cats. 65-60 Cards.

If you look at both the NCAA & NIT Tournament the SEC teams are currently 11-1 and that to me says something.

1) The SEC is 10-2 in postseason tournaments with only Arkansas still being alive in the NIT.

2) It says SEC schools can beat cupcakes. The NIT victories came at home against lower-seeded midmajors. Now I know this might impress you in light of Kentucky's failure last year to beat Robert :censored: ing Morris, but the reality is this is not that impressive. What you are doing is kind of like using the SEC's reign of terror against the SoCon as a way to extrapolate football dominance. Except for the part where Florida loses at home to Georgia Southern. Whoops!

Ok, I have to ask. Do we really need this many college basketball tournaments? I think the NCAA tournament is over saturated as it is with a full 64 team tournament plus play in games. Why do they have to have TWO full runner up tournaments on top of that? I was actually looking forward to having a few days away from college basketball games, but instead now were stuck with NIT and CIT games. I think that's a big reason why I don't like the post season for college basketball. Talk about overkill.

are the NIT and CIT games any different than all the non-BCS bowl games in the past have been? It's basically just an easy way to give teams a few more games; I really see nothing wrong with it.

I guess you're right, but I've been getting the feeling that even bowl week is overkill at this point as well. Plus, when you add all three tournaments up, it's still more than double the amount of teams involved than there are in the football bowl games, and they only play one game each.

There are almost 3 times as many Division I basketball teams as there are FBS teams. Proportion-wise far more teams play in the postseason in FBS than in Division I.

- 78 college teams will make it to a bowl game in 2015, there will be 127 teams = 61.4% make the playoffs

- 132 college basketball teams made it to a 2014 national postseason tournament, there were 315 teams = 41.9% made the playoffs

Yeah, 78...

Your basketball numbers are off because:

1- There are 349 D-1 Men's teams.

2- You failed to add the 16 team, College Basketball Invitational, earlier mentioned a few posts above by 'Kaz" to make 148 teams in post-season tournaments
