Kramerica Industries
The Baker Bowl and Shibe Park weren't exactly separated by great distances either, although given their surrounding environment, I doubt one could see one park from the other. (Baker Bowl is the stadium at the upper right; Shibe Park at the lower left.)The Yankees were kicked out of the Polo Grounds because the Giants owners were upset about the Yankees having more success financially in a stadium owned by the Giants, and the result was building Yankee Stadium on the other side of the Harlem River. It's funny to consider that the Giants had beaten the Yankees in two consecutive World Series in 1921 and 1922, prior to the Yankees being evicted, but for the rest of the time when the Giants were in New York, when the two met in the World Series, the Yankees won every time (1923, 1936, 1937, 1951), and in fact were never even really threatened in any of those series, either. FiddySicks
It has happened...Yeah but it's pretty rare in modern day sports. It's a nice throwback, then. bosrs1
Ryan Freel had CTEYep. Play any game too hard and your head suffers. Still, baseball is orders of magnitude safer than football or even hockey in that regard. And they're working to make it even safer with the new pitchers caps coming soon and the new safer helmets they've instituted.

Raul's had good numbers at Angel Stadium and can still hit the ball at his age. It gives the Angels more outfield depth and a DH with more pop than what it would've been, assuming J.B. Shuck would've been the guy slated to do that.
McCall
Shin-Soo Choo reportedly agrees to a 7-year deal with the Rangers. Evidently for $130mm. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
Sport
No surprise he didn't re-sign with the Reds. The only shot they had was to unload Brandon Phillips' contract and when that didn't happen they couldn't afford Choo.I'll miss that guy's on-base percentage. McCall
My projected Rangers line-up:LF - Choo (or RF)SS - Andrus1B - Fielder3B - BeltreRF - Rios (or LF)DH - Moreland2B - ProfarC - Soto/ArencibiaCF - MartinNot too shabby. Save about $10 mil off what the Yankees were gonna pay him and get a legit lead-off hitter. Maybe the best line-up in the AL. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
tp49
Looks like Tanaka will be getting posted after all. I'd love it if the Yankees decided to address one of their true needs this offseason and pick him up.

Still MIGHTY
Angels signed Mark Mulder. Shumway
Angels signed Mark Mulder. Now I understand we need pitching, but can they at least sign someone that's pitched in the last five years...It's an incentive-heavy minor league deal. Plus, he probably can't be worse than Joe Blanton. While I'm obviously not doing cartwheels about this signing, I'm perfectly okay with it. BBTV
Phillies have signed their new tv rights deal, but terms not yet disclosed.Team and Comcast are going to withold the terms, but it is apparently in the "billions". Yet, the team refuses to increase their payroll - and is actually decreasing it. Not that Ruin Tomorrow knows how to spend it, but at least make an effort. This team should be the Yankees of the NL, but is operating more like the Mets. The_Admiral
You can make reasonable arguments that the Mets, Phillies, Dodgers, and Cubs should all be "the Yankees of the NL." Maybe even the Cardinals and Braves, too. I'd kind of prefer we didn't have one. One is enough, thanks. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Gate, tv/radio, advertising, merch, etc. I'd assume that the Mets, Phillies, Dodgers, and Cubs would have a decided advantage over the Braves and Cardinals, however the Mets seem to have a lot of financial mismanagement that keeps them out of that top tier. The Dodgers aren't in an environment where there's pressure to be aggressive, and the Cubs have a gimmick to maintain. As the Cardinals have proved, brains beats money just about every time. But blowing money is fun though. At least in the offseason.
