crashcarson15
Still don't know what to take out of that, namely because I tried to restrain my emotions from going to stupid level after the penalty and the goal waved off at the other end.On one hand, think my boys were vastly outplayed. On the other hand, I think they deserved a point. Soccer's a weird game.Oh well. Take care of business the rest of the way and it's a date with Spain. The_Admiral
I was just thinking today that CenturyLink Field in Seattle would be a good fit for the final. The stadium is already perfect for soccer and the culture would fit the area nicely. Rain would be of minimal concern this time of year, too. Seattle would be a hell of a regional site, but you know in your heart that the final couldn't be anywhere but New York -- or East Rutherford, New Jersey, as the case may be. Probably go New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Houston, Seattle, Washington, San Francisco. There are eight sites per tournament, right? I don't really follow this. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
ninersdd
There are 12 this year and there were 10 in South Africa, so I would say generally 10-12 venues are used. Obviously the US has a lot of existing stadiums ready to go, so they will more then likely go with at least 12. IanC
United States Soccer Federation President Sunil Gulati has denied a report that the U.S. was told by FIFA to be ready to host the 2022 World Cup if Qatar does not.http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2095553-fifa-reportedly-tells-usa-to-be-ready-if-2022-world-cup-is-not-in-qatarI would like to see it held back in England since we have not had it since 1966 but because all the allegations are coming from here and Blatter has stated that the British media are on a witch hunt against him since the Panorama program then I cant see it happening even though Reuters are reporting David Cameron has hinted we are ready for it.Back to last nights game. My prediction was a 2-0 win to Brazil so I was not far off with a two goal margin. Yes there were some poor decisions given but in all honesty for all of Croatias hard work in midfield battling away they did not look like really scoring for themselves. Oscar was by far the best player on the pitch last night. The Croatia keeper should of really saved all three Brazil goals especially the third goal which was very poor goalkeeping by any top flight keeper.Looking forward to the three matches today. I predict that Mexico and Cameroon will end in a 1-1 draw.Spain will win 2-1 against the NetherlandsChile will win 1-0 against Australia.
Jaffa
I would like to see it held back in England since we have not had it since 1966 but because all the allegations are coming from here and Blatter has stated that the British media are on a witch hunt against him since the Panorama program then I cant see it happening.I think that as 2018 is already being staged by a European nation (unless Russia are themselves stripped of hosting duties) we won't be in the running. More likely Qatar's rival bidders from the 2022 vote will get a second bite of the cherry, which is only proper.

I know CenturyLink has hosted World Cup qualifiers before, so they could definitely handle some early round games. When Colombia resigned from having it in 1986 due to economic problems Fifa awarded to Mexico instead of the USA who were second in the running when it was awarded to Colombia originally. It will be held still in either the Middle East or Asia if Qatar get stripped of it.
Berlin Wall
I also read that Australia will most likely get the tournament if it's going to happen. I'm a simple person, I have a pixelated David Beckham as profile photo since 2010.
Soarindude
The amount of money that can be made in Australia during the World Cup is a fraction do what they would make in the US though. Awkward match times would also be a problem with the time difference.

But Brazil put in a special request to have extra venues "for the interest of the whole country." The US probably would have 10 stadiums.

AnythingChicago
Judging solely by the rosters, Cameroon is the better team. But because of the intrasquad turmoil (Eto'o complaining about not getting passed to enough, Cameroon essentially being the 2008 Dallas Cowboys of this World Cup with Eto'o being T.O.), Mexico is dominating this match so far.The lack of team chemistry is really hurting Cameroon; Mexico are pretty mediocre on paper, but they're a much more cohesive team. Soarindude
Watching people support Mexico that are Americans is absolutely revolting. Mexico is a rival team, why are we rooting for them just because they are our "neighbors".Sure, if you come from Mexico descent, that makes sense, but I swear American soccer supporters are just downright stupid sometimes. Berlin Wall
Why was that goal from Mexico get denied? The German commentator has also no clue? The ref just couldn't saw offside.
