JPDesign
What's surprised me is that despite some obvious dislikes these seems to be pretty well received by the OU fanbase. This poll was on an OU message board:Despite the peer pressure, I'm still not a fan.
mfoster
As a lifelong Sooner fan, I've never once heard anyone say anything about "Bringing the Wood."It's just a marketing slogan. They've got $370M in stadium upgrades to pay for.
nicklas
Have Navy's new Under Armour jerseys been posted yet? Not sure, but here they are just in case. Looks like Under Armour is building off of what they did for Northwestern.http://www.armedforcesgear.com/under-armour/under-armour-replica-football-jersey-7553

walkerws
Not impressed with these. I think if anything, they should've designed a shoulder board pattern or done the stripes on the sleeves.
OldRamsFan
Is Navy dropping these helmets? I hope not. Those are my fave helmets of all time, replacing the Rams.

djam2410
Same thing is on the other side:Now it's a beautiful helmet, no number!I would like it if it had smaller helmet logos. Those are killing an otherwise good helmet IMO.Raymond James stadium is the first stadium to have two teams that play there that have oversized logos? MellowTheMyth
I think Navy would have just been better off without the stripes across. Works for Northwestern, but no so much here.
apate93
Never been a fan of the Northwestern-style stripe. And here it seems impossible to see from a distance anyway.

Then six stripes is for a captain, correct? Wouldn't that be sort of odd to assert that all the players on the team had a specific rank by mimicing the approved military style? PPH
East Carolina has started teasing at their jersey facelift (key word) since their rebrand (http://d22r54gnmuhwmk.cloudfront.net/photos/0/xc/mq/iUXcMqaIdSiDhFX-556x313-noPad.jpg). Full jersey should be out soon, not promotional images or anything just iphone photos from the equipment manager twitter account.Top is before, bottom is after:Helmet:
WSU151
no Captain is 4 stripes and a star above them, I'm still trying to figure out the stripes on the uniYou are correct - for an officer, a captain in the Navy is an O-6 and wears 4 stripes and a star. For Midshipmen, there are internal Naval Academy ranks. Six stripes and a star is a Midshipman "Captain" rank.Still kind of surprised it'd be used on all the uniforms.http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:USN_Midshipman_Insignia.png Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

tron1013
Would we put it past UA to give team captains a six striped jersey and then assign the rest of the team striping based on academic year or internally achieved rank at Annapolis? Not sure how or why Navy would try to out do UMD in UA craziness but who knows?
Clintau24
I'm curious about Navy's helmets as well. They were from Nike, so how well do things like that transfer in changing apparel companies like this? It's a bit unprecedented wouldn't you say?I hope they keep them though. They are my all-time favorite helmets as well. "I believe in Auburn and love it!"
