WSU151 9,754 Posted November 29, 2014 Maybe an unpopular opinion...but Iowa should never change its look. Sure it's a complete ripoff of the Steelers...but it is still a good look. I've always liked the helmet, and the huge numbers on the back of the helmet are pretty sweet. It's just timeless.Agree 100%. It's a great look. You forgot the ANF stickers.Remember when Iowa thought this was a good idea?ahahaha I had completely forgotten about this. Such a weird combination of 90s CFL-esque big logo and asymmetry along with a proto-contemporary attempt at a shoulder pattern. Did any other college football team do something like this?Minnesota or Maryland? Wow, what were they doing...This is all before I started watching college football, and you don't exactly see highlights of these teams from those eras, so this is all new to meWhy would you think that's Maryland? Not used to seeing Minnesota in actual gold, the team they're playing in that pic could be Illinois or Syracuse for all I know, and the only block M worth remembering out of those two schools and the one I went to is, well, the one I went toWell...Maryland has never worn maroon and Vegas gold. So there's that, which should help any confusion. And Maryland's block M has never been close to anything in that picture. Based on your logic, that could be Michigan, Mississippi, or Missouri as well...because block M.

If it's any consolation, I originally just had something about Minnesota in my post, but doubted myself and edited Maryland in there. First thought best thought again, and thank yall for teaching me about Big Ten football in the 90s
RollTribe19 39 Posted November 29, 2014 Maroon and Vegas gold are not Marylands colors and that M is not even the same. It's not like Michigan was orange and green in the 90s, and Iowa was pink and purple...most schools have a similar color scheme and logo from the 90s as the do today. Please stop with the excuses and just admit that you made a brain fart and it was stupid. Maryland? Really?
FiddySicks 11,201 Posted November 29, 2014 Good to see Arizona State look like Arizona State again. It sure is. The sooner ASU ditches the salad fork logo and most of those awful uniform combos, the better. A move to Adidas certainly couldn't be any worse than what Nike has done to the Sun Devils. Couldn't disagree any more. The change to the fork logo was something I wasn't too thrilled with at first, but it grew on me over time, and it's really become a huge part of the identity now. I love Sparky. He's easily my favorite mascot in college sports (I even named my dog after him). But the identity that Nike has come up with for us is damn near perfect IMO (Minus the wonky ASU script logo on the sleeves of the football jerseys). A couple of the current ASU combos aren't entirely bad, but the overall uniform package is pretty awful.Different strokes, I guess.
GFB 2,127 Posted November 29, 2014 Nike owns the trademark for the ASU pitchfork design, right? So no Nike = no pitchfork?
MJWalker45 5,752 Posted November 29, 2014 I loved those Minnesota uniforms since they were so different from anything else at the time. I still like them. The Iowa jerseys from the Tim Dwight era were a good look too. I liked the winged jerseys as an ode to the 1930's but I didn't think they should have been kept past the CFB anniversary year.Maybe an unpopular opinion...but Iowa should never change its look. nuordr 1,046 Posted November 29, 2014 sorry I was at the Mizzou game yesterday so I didn't have a chance to post this. But Mizzou's helmets are an ode to the 2009 Nike Pro Combat helmets. The almost invisible decals were supposed to symbolize stealth, for the US Air Force ROTC located in Columbia, MO. You guys might have already known this, but thought I'd share it. 20092014Here is the full uniform:
Billy B 154 Posted November 29, 2014 This was a nice looking combo today: I think that's my favorite road combo for the new set. I usually don't like white/white/color, but it looked great today.
tj4eck 38 Posted November 29, 2014 Oregon going yellow helmet, green jersey and pants today in the Civil War. Since they are on the road the civil war will once again be color vs. color, with oregon state presumably in some sort of orange. Not Color vs. ColorBeavs in Orange/White/Orange (at home)
GriffinM6 1,383 Posted November 29, 2014 Minnesota going with the traditional Arizona state road look vs. Wisconsin today.

MJWalker45 5,752 Posted November 30, 2014 Yes. I think that Razorbacks jersey lasted just one game. Same as Wisconsin's Cowboys alternate ripoff. Apex was responsible for all those too. Champion made Minnesota's uniforms at the time.
FiddySicks 11,201 Posted November 30, 2014 So is there any actual proof of this apparent switch to Adidas for ASU? I've been looking all over for a link and I can't find one. Was it just a mention on Twitter, or is there a link I'm missing?
