College Football 2014 Season

If only one team can have Northwestern stripes can only one team be called Tigers, wear maroon or have numbers on their helmets? Ohio State and Iowa shared the same jersey striping for years without complaint. Northwestern's stripes are on the body of the jersey. So I don't ser a reason that anyone else should have to change. I also agree that as nice as the Ohio State jerseys for tomorrow's game looks it shouldn't carry over to next year without replacing the shoulder numbers.

I know a while back people were talking about uniswag on twitter and his credibility, well he just gave Kentucky's chrome/black/black "uni of the year award"

Was it in the category of, "17 year old's favorite look"? That's just crazy talk!

So.... They're keeping the copper lids? I love that, but that jersey. Woof. I really do hope these are just placeholders now.

Did you see the other uniforms in the running? They only chose one-off alternate uniforms. Nothing else.

"I believe in Auburn and love it!"

Yes, but the original Northwestern stripe was on the sleeve, and Ohio State and Iowa have both changed since.

Honestly, I have more issues with Ohio State's because I think the new stripe looks better, and I'd prefer Iowa change because ... Steelers. It's not really about Northwestern for me personally, but it seemed like a legitimate reason for fellow B1G teams to avoid it.

And oldschoolvikings, "Standard Pro Stripe" sounds good to me. I called a color "baseball gray" for years (pre-CCSLC) for similar reasons. :)

"Well, we could place the logos next to each other and it would look pretty good, or we could stack them on top of each other and have it look like total crap with numbers around the belly button..."

"Um...let's just stack them. adidas logo needs to be at the collar."

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

That's ugly. The facemask is terrible.

That's the Desert Fuel helmet they wore this past season. It's nothing new.

The construction of Adidas uniforms is just awful.

Yeah. Much like Nike giving the Jets the awful 3-green crap they have, I can't see how anybody at Adidas could look at the uniform on that model and say "looks good." If in the absolute best setting - on a manequin -it looks like a woman's Hanes t-shirt stretched across pads, you really need to go back to the drawing board.

Oh....phew. That helmet is awful.
I love that helmet. Not with that terrible jersey, but the copper looks great on it with the grey Nike set they wore.

I even picked up a mini helmet of it when it came out in limited release last month

This is a preview of what Miami might look like with Adidas.

B7FCMjhIgAAtqVl.jpg

As I said in the Miami thread, it's not the final product, but it's a lot closer to it for Miami than the "simple" one displayed for Arizona State.

Miami wanted last year's Nike redesign to be more simple than it was. Ultimately, they signed off on it, but it wasn't what they wanted.

The pattern that adidas set up with their other "traditional" clients like UCLA, Nebraska, Wisconsin and others of having a conservative, traditional "normal" look, then going all-out with one totally different alternate a year was VERY appealing to Miami during the negotiation process.

Just looking at the "Desert Fuel" uniform comparison... its amazing how one company can completely knock it out of the park, home run, A+, perfect score, while another company swings, misses, and ends up spinning around on their back leg like a clown.

Oh great. I'm sure we'll get to see a Miami alternate with a giant "U" on the front.
