nuordr
This is a preview of what Miami might look like with Adidas. As I said in the Miami thread, it's not the final product, but it's a lot closer to it for Miami than the "simple" one displayed for Arizona State. Miami wanted last year's Nike redesign to be more simple than it was. Ultimately, they signed off on it, but it wasn't what they wanted. The pattern that adidas set up with their other "traditional" clients like UCLA, Nebraska, Wisconsin and others of having a conservative, traditional "normal" look, then going all-out with one totally different alternate a year was VERY appealing to Miami during the negotiation process. Where did you read this? I have done a search on Google and could not find that information no where.

LEWJ
There's a nice little article in the Wall Street Journal discussing Oregon's "Robo-Duck" vs. Puddles.Thought it was worth noting.Kind of embarrassing how "Mandrake" was introduced in 2002, after "concocting an elaborate backstory".Interesting though how Puddles went from beloved, to "pooh-poohed," and then beloved again. | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |
shaydre1019
Does Nike not own the rights to that Miami font? Or is that an altered version?
LEWJ
Does Nike not own the rights to that Miami font? Or is that an altered version?I was wondering the same thing. To me it looks to be modified, but it's hard to tell with two digits.I'm assuming Nike has the rights to the actual font, seeing that it's used for many of their teams now. | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |

I feel like this set would look a lot nicer with white pants and socks/tights.

The adidas version looks a lot closer to the original version but narrower based on this example: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000362431/article/what-school-is-wr-u-miami-usc-among-contenders-for-title
walkerws
It's also probably being altered to fit the restrictions of the techfit jerseys. With this being a quick mockup, they may not have translated it into the final set up also. ASU's font is pretty simple but the width and thicknesses for the Miami font should've been pretty simple too. I don't know of any oter team having those differences in their uniformm numbers though so what do I know.

TheRicSlick
So how much is Nike paying ESPN to consistently talk about their uniforms during their coverage.

THAT'S what Miami has been wearing lately? That's garbage.Adidas doesn't have a lot of work to do to beat that. (not saying they will as adidas has proven capable of producing the worst uniforms in college football).
shstpt1
while scrolling through Oregon Football's Facebook, it appears that the stormtrooper look, white pants not grey, will be used... and the White helmets have the Washington texture to them... RollTribe19
The new Nike uniforms were fine for Miami. The problem was the over did the helmets. The classic white and one alternate would have been fine. They also did a horrible job making uniform combinations and used the grey way too much. Those uniforms had potential, and unless Nike was telling them what to wear every week, Miami failed themselves and found somewhere to put the blame. I don't think the new Nike uniforms were bad at all, but Miami totally undid what Nike had done. How many times did they used the white/orange/white or white/white/orange combo? Once or twice?I doubt they changed because they needed someone to blame. They left for the money, same as ASU. If Adidas didn't have so much money to spend, they'd have three or four contracts with Power Five schools right now. That's really how bad their design is, and the three or four left over are oblivious and ignorant.
