sportserh Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Hey guys, I decided to rebrand the Los Angeles Clippers. I decided to go with a nautical theme for the logo. One of the top three logos (where it says option#1, #2, and #3) would be the main logo, while the bottom two would be alternate logos. If you could, please vote on one of the top three logos. I could not decide which one I liked best, so I thought I'd leave it up to you. Leave feedback on any of these! Also, I would like to get some ideas on how to improve the court design. Especially the center court logo; it looks a little weird to me. Thanks guys!
WSU151 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Not feeling it.You put good thought into it, but it just didn't turn out. Of the three, Option 3 is probably the best. The center court logo looks a little weird because it's an awkward logo, with awkward spacing. The "Los Angeles" on top of the "Clippers" is just clunky. It looks like the logo for a fish restaurant. The font is boring. The secondary and tertiary logos aren't bad. Again, the font ruins both, unfortunately. Finally, the seams in your basketballs are off. All eight panels should be of equal width at the outer edge of a basketball. Looking at the circumference, there shouldn't be four wide panels, and four thin panels. Check out the Wizards' primary logo, since your logo and that logo use close to the same perspective of a basketball. The seams should pretty much line up with the captain's wheel. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
mattb6 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Personally I like the look and Option 3 is my favorite. Like WSU said, the basketball is out of proportion, so I'd fix that. Really like these.
ESTONES6 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 The logos a phenominal... However, they don't look like basketball logos. They look like baseball logos to me... Does that make sense? But like I said, they are phenominal. SAINT IGNATIUS WILDCATS | CLEVELAND BROWNS | CLEVELAND CAVALIERS | CLEVELAND INDIANS | THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES
FUNKAFIED Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I like option 3.However, I'm tired of NBA teams introducing these alternate nicknames, so I'm not feeling the "City of Angels" moniker.

EvanBirchfield Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Dude this is great and you obviously have some talent for this more than I could wish to have, with that being said I love the Clippers style how they are now.
MrWonka Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I really think the font is great with this. I think the classic traditional font fits the set quite well.
Atesh Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Colors and font are boring. Otherwise looking pretty sharp. #PackerNation#IgniteTheFuture#GreenCollar
walby2 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 This concept is definitely a step in the right direction, and with a bit more polish it would be a winner. Even as it is, I think it would still be a huge upgrade for the Clips...As for the team in general, I don't understand why a team with so much potential to capture the public's attention is so determined to stick with such a brutally bland identity.
WSU151 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I really think the font is great with this. I think the classic traditional font fits the set quite well. There needs to be some energy in the font. A clipper is a fast moving ship. Basketball is a fast moving game. LA is a city on the go. This font is stagnant and boring. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
sportserh Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 I agree with you guys, the font needs to be changed. Do you guys have any ideas on a new font? I just have a feeling that the cursive in the current logo would look out of place in my design.
FALCON6 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 These are fantastic. Good idea to birng in ships and you did it perfectly. Very nautical, and I'd say option 3 and drop the water under the boat. Clips must use this.
