keithisgood
Trying to design a logo for a cover band. We pulled our name--the Sticky Bandits--from Home Alone 2 and employ a sticky hand motif: throwing sticky hands out during our gigs.Wanted some feedback on a logo update, trying to keep the sticky hand idea but making it easier to scale from the very small (Twitter Icons, Site Favicon), to the very large (CDs, Banners and Drumheads)Here's the original:Here's the update: Thoughts? FGWB
I always prefer circular logos, I just think that without background or context it's hard to tell what it is.And the first thing I thought of was thisBut it's not bad at all.
keithisgood
Awesome. Does that Make me Tully Blanchard?I suppose it does lack context. Thanks for the note.
derschwigg
Love the icon, not in love with the font. But that's just a personal thing. Nice job! My Portfolio | My Store | My Self
Sport
I really like the circular hand logo. I think you nailed that.I'm also not enamored with the font and I'd enlarge it compared to the logo. Also, the green is super bright. Maybe soften that a little so it's not so "electric". Arts11
I like the logo in general except its hard to differentiate among the fingers (or even tell that there's a thumb).

JPDesign
I think the hand part of the logo looks pretty good. While maybe not immediately recognizable for some, it would look killer on say, a drum kit.Still not a fan of the type, however.
keithisgood
Thanks. The type, as you point out, can really go if need be. The primary concern right now is the Circle logo for CDs, and Drum heads. Thanks for giving it a look!
keithisgood
Tried another script to go with our circle logo.
wonderbread
Tried another script to go with our circle logo.that font looks more like a font for a car customizer or something, not a band
keithisgood
that font looks more like a font for a car customizer or something, not a bandyeah, I see that as well, but I'm trying to build a font which uses the same rounded shapes as the logo without it looking comic sansish. Any suggestions?
Cosmic
The "e" is really terrible, but I think this font fits with the logo:http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/pooplatter.htm

keithisgood
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not too concerned about one letter being bad; i can alter them as need be. Also, I hadn't realized I could search "rounded" fonts. So that helps immensely.
JPDesign
Look into Gotham Rounded, or something similar. Anything with a strong geometric basis will fit well: Futura, Avant Garde, etc...

stumpygremlin
I suppose I'll be the only one that's asked this, but what kind of music do you guys play? I think that'd go a long way to determining what type of font you guys should use for your logo.
keithisgood
Covers: mostly 90s pop rock and current stuff, but going all the way back to the 60s with a little rap sprinkled in. We do TV and Cartoon theme song medleys as well.
