Thursday, June 8, 1882 – A few announcements regarding the league came out on this date. First it was announced that the league had hired its first President businessman August Belmont. Belmont signed a three year contract to oversee the operation of the league. Essentially the league going forward would operate in a capacity similar to a modern corporation, a hired President would act as the chief executive operator (CEO) while the collective owners would act as the board of directors. The owner who has the most seniority will sit as the director of the board of owners. One other note regarding how it works is that is if a team is owned by more than one person, such as a partnership, that team still only has one vote on the board, they may only sit one of their owners on the board.

The other news that came out on this date is the two logos that are posted below. They are the initial mock up for the first Race Wars in New Orleans and the first Title Match in Manhattan. Based upon your C&C these logos made be adjusted.

This is well... interesting. I've never seen a series like this before. I look forward to see where it goes. By the way the Quakers logo is really, really cool! What font did you use for that!

I am eager to get this season going so I may rush through this. Also because the first season is kind of an example of how this will work I may rush through it as well. In the future the season’s will draw out over time.

Friday, September 1, 1882 – League President August Belmont announces the going rate for rookie contracts while he is in office; that rate will be $5000 per year.

January 6, 1883 – Reporting back following the evaluation day at Race Wars 1 in New Orleans, the following is what is discovered.

Over all the coaches are expressing disappointment in the group of riders. The two most promising riders are Ed Davison from Spring Lake, Michigan and Bart Kroger from Quebec. Others who intrigue the coaches are Carlo Diaz, Angelo Koller, Jose Louis, and Oscar MacLean. The least impressive riders at evaluation day and therefore one of which will not be selected to a roster are Stewart Cavendish, Robert Harcourt, and Billy von Lindemann.
