FunnyHeadlines
I honestly think it's a lateral move. It's modernized, and that's good. But the older one has become classic and they won a super bowl with it. All in all, I don't really like or dislike the change. And that helmet is not the new one. New helmets aren't released this early. It's probably a rough draft.

oldschoolvikings
Here is the new color palette again as well...I made some adjustments to the order of the colors...from what I can tell (and what a licensee told me), Black might be regulated to only being used in the logos; not necessarily in the uniforms. Not sure about the Orange, but it looks like the primary colors will be Red, Pewter and Silver.Did anybody catch this? The colors are apparently in order of use/importance. This lists silver as a primary color, and orange as a supporting color. Implying the uniform will feature more silver than orange. http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/
devilray2k1
So an NFL team finally went with chrome face masks...I wonder what can of worms this will open upI'm sure Dallas would want to have chrome face masks…but since the silver-fleck finish of the helmets won't match they'll probably want to go all chrome for the helmets tooRaiders might wanna go chrome tooalsohow in the world are the flag decals gonna stay consistent from helmet type to helmet type?? TruColor
Did anybody catch this? The colors are apparently in order of use/importance. This lists silver as a primary color, and orange as a supporting color. Implying the uniform will feature more silver than orange. That's purely speculation on my part. I'm basing the order and usage on the official graphics (the wordmarks are Red, Pewter, Silver and White only), the fact that a licensee told me that Black is not a "licensed" color (I think, meaning that merchandise won't necessarily be created using that color - remains to be seen), and the fact that the only Orange I see anywhere is in the football in the logo. I'll probably revise that color image once the uniforms have been unveiled. In-between working today (!), I am trying to put together all of the graphics...every mark, wordmark, combo mark (primary plus wordmark) and helmet graphic on every color background, and also metallic vs. flat, etc. Lots to do. 70 graphics so far, and I've still got a few more to do before moving on to the various helmet graphics. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy. seattlesonicsofsacramento
My "enhancement".Old flag, unshaded Skull and Crossswords, new sword. This is almost exactly what I wanted to see. Still think the new s&c isn't enough of an enhancement to replace the old one (although I don't think it's bad enough to throw out) and the bright orange football contradicts the intent for the skull to be "more menacing" (or maybe you could argue it compliments it, if they're trying to appeal to everyone). The only way that orange will make sense is if it's a tertiary color. "The pictures looked good on the computer," Will Brown explained

slats7
so are the facemasks the same color as the helmet shell? hard to tell.

oldschoolvikings
The facemasks are apparently supposed to match the outline around the logo.(I like how on the NFL's official helmet graphic the facemask covers up part of the logo.) http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/

WideRight
Gotta say the more I look at it the more I dislike the use of chrome with pewter. I don't like it on the outline of the logo and I really don't like the facemask. A white outline and a black mask seem much more consistent. The two metallic tones just seem to clash in both illustrations and in the actual helmets. But again, I have to confess that I am an Oregon-hater and really dislike most of the current helmet trends (matte finish, chrome finish, gigantic logos, monochrome, etc.)
Braden
I guess I'm in the minority that likes the new logo.Love the new sword designs... the football really pops with the white laces and clever red shading... and the new shade of pewter looks more like a return of GRAPHITE!!!But the shape of the flag compared to the old logo looks off for some reason & the new overly-detailed secondary logo is a big downgrade, and it tells me that the ship isn't going on the uniforms... which is a shame. I still call it an upgrade.Sure, the giant logo is a little odd but it's unique in the NFL and has left me intrigued to see the rest of the uniform. FiddySicks
I'm warming up to the "chrome" facemask (It reminds me more of aluminum then chrome, actually). It's a decently unique separation from the standard grey masks that a lot of teams wear. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) There are very few concepts on this site that I would actually like to see one of the big 122 use. It's less than 1%. This logo looks like it could've come from the concepts board and while we have a lot of talent around here, that's not a good thing.
