jws008
From the wit of Douglas Adams, in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy":"Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-two million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea."Apparently Bucs' management thinks digital watches are still a pretty neat idea. pokecat12
I found something new I really dont like: The back of the jerseys. The top just sort of collides with the pewter shoulders....The white numerals are almost bearable since the digital lines aren't as noticeable. The dark numerals with bright silver digital lines are horrendous. I keep hearing that this is for the kids, I'm sure they said that too about stuff in the 70s and we've thankfully got rid of most of the horrible designs from that era.I'm sure somebody posted this in the 91 pages of this dumpster fire, but the numbers and font reek of Klingon. Crash
There's got to be an orange jersey coming. The team officially said there were only two jersey options. One hypothesis on why is that the Bucs are still hoping to be able to use the throwbacks and are appealing the one-helmet rule or trying to figure a workaround. The hypothesis then goes that if the NFL stands pat, a third orange jersey will be unveiled.Either way, I wouldn't expect to see one this year. LogoFan
Sigh. And THIS is why so many were terrified of Nike getting their hands on the NFL.I think referring to wild designs as "arena leaguish" needs to stop. This is your NFL doing this crap. When the Browns unveil their new look next year, expect mass suicides in Cleveland.Ugh.The old Buc's look was okay but not great...but still stellar to this new look. Not feeling any part of the new package. At all.EDIT: the NFL is so freaking desperate for new looks in the numerals, they are now picking them out of a hat. I expect the next new numerals to be hand-drawn by a 5 year-old.

JAGS and Bucs look like they were thrown together out of the nike parts bin over the last 5 years. I would still love to see what would become of one of the elite franchises with their current state of design. Their biggest problem now is just too many detailed design elements. The reason some of the new college redesigns work is that they are only incorporating about 50% of the swooshe's fancy embellishments.

FiddySicks
Weren't they supposed to do an "official" reveal today? I know they let them out of the bag early, but I seem to remember reading that they were still gonna do the whole ceremony shebang today regardless. Did that change? Were they afraid they were gonna get booed off the stage? On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Much better than OK... but these jersey's are vomit and I am insulting vomit.I like the helmets, logo and the decal is ridiculouslly large, but I could live with that.I have no concept of how this went from drawing board, to design final to production. None. Where did they think this was good? Like watching a bad movie, you just have to wonder how did it ever make it past a script reading???? These are inept, poorly designed and have absolutely NOTHING to do with being a goddam pirate?Someone put it best here:Its the Florida Panthers, meet the arena league that ran into an alarm clock. LOL!I will always love my Bucs, but I aint liking these abortions called jerseys. Please do not fool yourself, the Buccaneers jersey is conceptually and creatively an abomination. IceCap
For the new Bucs' uniforms, I made a concept laying out all the changes that I would have made to improve them. I'm also not going to freak out over a uniform that's actually pretty tame outside of a number font that nearly everyone, whether they're modernist, traditionalist, or in the middle, agrees is horrible. And there are some aspects that the new look improves upon the old look - for instance, actually using pewter on the jerseys.Between the chrome mask, shiny helmet, giant logos, alarm clock numbers, wordmarks on the sleeves, and chromed number treatment? Not tame at all. I also don't see how adding pewter to the jerseys helps. Despite the lack pewter on the jerseys the colour balance on the last set worked just fine. Pewter was a strong backbone to the set without becoming over exposed.I do have a problem with the Chargers' switch to royal and then navy. Powder blue worked just fine for the Chargers and didn't need changing, especially not to navy, the most overused color in sports. Ironically, in their quest to "put their own stamp on the team," the Spanos family ended up making the Chargers look less distinctive from the rest of the league.Navy wasn't overused when the Chargers switched to it. They were actually at the forefront of that trend.Anyway I agree, I prefer powder blue to navy. I'm just saying I would prefer the Super Bowl XXIX set to the current set. dennisbergan
In looking at Canzman's photos, I'd say my thought that the pewter socks belong with the white pants and the red socks belong with the pewter pants, is spot on.They need to stay away from the Red jersey, white pants, red socks combo. Looks too much like division rival Atlanta. And as someone else said, there HAS to be an orange alternate that wasn't released (which happens all the time). The orange socks are completely out of place with any of the combos posted. They would be pointless without the orange alt, which I am sure exists.Orange jersey, pewter pants and orange socks would be very interesting. Lets just hope the Bucs put an end to the stupid "wear white for the first 4 home games" deal they've done for years. Hard to mix-and-match when you stick to that stupidity. The Dolphins would be wise to get with the program too and start wearing the teal jerseys for some day home games too. They have a sharp look when they aren't stuck wearing the same white on white all year long.
