This is something I'd expect in an independent league game, not at a major league stadium.(Twitter claiming tarp wasn't on field; CSN California disagreed with that, but other media reports agreeing with Twitter that tarp was not on field.) There is absolutely no racism involved in anything said by the media. If a white baseball player showed up late to the game as well, I can imagine people would be pointing fingers at him for being a distraction. This is the Dodgers year to win it, distractions should not be tolerated. Puig is a good player, but he's an absolute idiot. There is some overreaction involved, but this was probably one of many incidents that Puig has done in his time in LA that has created a disturbance.
