If I'm not mistaken, the new home plate collision rule has an exception. If the catcher is blocking the runner and has the ball in his glove you're allowed to destroy him. I see plays at the plate under that circumstance and the runners are still shying away from contact. I'm totally against the new rules in the first place but that has been bothering me.

Crownking has all the needed abilities of an ESPN reporter.

Too much cliches and illogical predictions.

(Meanwhile, celebrate DNA on the ceremony of 500 posts, being awarded a brand new member title at his disposal)

on my profile it says 499 so I guess this will be my 500th post...

With that being said:

Crownking is the Skip Bayless/Stephen A. Smith of these boards...

On topic:

Even though the Orioles haven't locked up the AL East Title it's basically secure for them... I don't see the Jays or Yankees gaining too much ground on them

I'm not a Bayless or Smith of these boards. I like rivalries. Don't you? Don't you want passionate games, emotion, anger? This year we haven't seen good, feisty games. We need that.
Yes I like rivalries, but not the forced ones you're suggesting
Can you see a rivalry between Dodgers and Nationals? They both have feisty players and are hyped by the media.

Well, I guess you are a Cardinals fan because GRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITWHITEPEOLPEGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITEMOTIONGRITGRTIGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITWHITEPEOLPEGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITEMOTIONGRITGRTIGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITWHITEPEOLPEGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITEMOTIONGRITGRTIGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITWHITEPEOLPEGRITGRITGRITGRITGRITEMOTIONGRITGRTIGRITGRIT

And the Brewers come to the team we thought they were

If they miss the playoffs, manager Ron Roenicke may be fired.
Heartbreaking.

So, the attendance for last night's Indians-Tigers game at Progessive Field was a whopping 9,990. Weather looked clear, 7:05 start, September game against a historical rival that you also happen to fighting for a playoff spot. What's going on?

Browns football. I know they aren't great but I would imagine Cleveland is a football city.

Some folks do have school and work to go to the next morning.

Believe it or not, the demographics of this board don't mirror those of cities with sports teams. It's pretty easy for a single guy in his 20's with few responsibilities to catch a game on a weeknight. Not so much for those that have kids and a wife that all have to be somewhere at 7-9am.....

Congratulations to Cole Hamels and Jonathan Papelbon on their no-hitter against the Braves.

So the other two relievers can just burn in hell?

(As to whether they'll really burn in hell or not, we'll see. :D)

With his attitude and demeanor, I think Papelbon is actually the one who'll burn in hell. B)
