Paul Lukas is reporting that this year's Madden versions will include fan-designed uniforms. You'll have to hustle though, the deadline is March 7.

This sounds kind of awesome.

Can we create a kickstarter to make this worth Fraser's time? :P

Paul Lukas is one handsome man.

This would be great to see these fan-made designs dominated by members of this site. Get to work, guys.

Oh wow, this sounds great. Too bad I don't have Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. Anybody want some hand-drawn ideas sent to them? :P

Tradition is the foundation of innovation, and not the enemy.

I hope to see most of the CFA designs in there. This sounds awesome. Hopefully I'll be able to read it later. Stupid admins at work!!!!

"We don't have any preconceived notions about this. We're not looking specifically for this or that -- but we'll know it when we see it."

How's that for creative direction?

Interesting concept -- though I'm immediately concerned that this will be rife with IP theft, just like TeamBuilder is. Good chance for a lot of the non-chosen A11FL designs to be re-purposed, though...

Panhandlers could actually be a train/ railroad theme. My hometown has been home to the panhandlers athletic club park. Look up Dennison, OH and the towns in the region.

My main concern with this contest is that there's no posted process (that I can see) for designers to make a claim that a submitted design was stolen from them. I can easily see untold numbers of ethically-challenged people coming to sites like this one searching for logos that match the team names and submitting them as their own. If they are particularly clever, they will recolor the logos or tweak them a bit. But because there is no monetary prize, I can see lots of people not hesitating to steal and enter others' logos with the mindset that there's no harm done. When in actuality, it seems that EA will likely own or be granted perpetual rights to use any entered logos. So if you can't prove that your logo was stolen by someone and entered into this contest, you will likely have lost all exclusive rights to that logo and it will be rendered un-sellable, should you ever choose to want to submit that logo to any real-world teams. It seems impossible for EA to be able to police this sort of thing, but they've opened up the can of worms so I'll be curious to see how it pans out.

Here's the relevant text from their official rules.

8. License. By entering this Contest, each Entrant expressly grants to Sponsor and its Agents a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, complete, sub-licensable and irrevocable right to quote, re-post, publish, use, adapt, translate, archive, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, syndicate, license, print, sublicense, distribute, transmit, broadcast, and otherwise communicate, and publicly display and perform the Entry, or any portion thereof, in any manner or form and in any medium or forum, whether now known or hereafter devised, without notice, payment or attribution of any kind to Entrant or any third party. Entrant further waives and agrees not to assert any moral or similar rights Entrant may have in such Entry.

These "contests" never end well. No matter how awesome some of the designs members of these boards could out out, they'll still choose crap. I've seen it happen SO many times where there is a contest like this and members here enter some truly awesome work, only for it to be overlooked for some ugly abomination drawn in crayon by blind little Billy.

What PSD file must I need to access this?

When you go to the site you download the entry package. It looks like one of the generic designs that were posted here.
