Iowa Oaks (UPDATE: Headshots with other Fantasy teams)

Hi folks,

I'm trying to figure out what should be the color set for my fantasy baseball team, the Iowa Oaks!

Should it be navy blue and gold, OR light blue and gold?

Or do you think there's a possibility that I could make all 3 colors work together? (like navy as the primary, yellow secondary and light blue as tertiary or something like that) If so, then how?

Personally, I think the light blue and yellow set is top notch! Good work there. I'm not sure how you'd go about encorporating all three colors if you wanted to, though. But like I said, I think you nailed it with the light blue and yellow.

This is tough... both of them look great. Try to meet in the middle with the blues and see what happens. If you do want to do all three colors go with removing gray from the equation amd replace it with the blue as necessary.

Both look excellent. I think the question you have to ask yourself is: what kind of a feel are you going for with the uniforms? The dark blue set is very sharp and has a more modern feel, while the light blue has a great retro feel to it. I would definitely go with one of the two options above and not change the blues.

Yeah, I know what you guys are talking about. I'm torn apart between the two. Eagle nailed it, I think. Darker = modern, while lighter = retro.

I MIGHT be leaning toward the lighter blue because I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to baseball, but I keep going back and forth between the two.

I had an idea that I might keep the darker ones for the home whites and road grays only, while I use the lighter ones for alternates. But the thing is... I can def. see the Oaks wearing the lighter ones more often than the darker ones, lol, especially during the summers (Think Carolina Panthers/Tampa Bay Buccaneers wearing whites at home for 1st half of season).

After I typed that out, I was wondering... has there ever been a team that has TWO different color schemes but with similar logos..., if that makes sense...?

Personally, I think the regular home and away uniforms look better with the dark blue, but the gold jersey with the light blue is beautiful.

I like both but I would say that the darker blue is more fitting to baseball.

I agree. I like dark blue better, but that I in the O Oak leaf. Great work here.

I'd go with light blue. I might have a little bias because I love the minneapolis lakers color way (hometown) but it really gives it a throwback feel and that looks good with your logo. Either way they both look great. Awesome logo I think that the I-cubs should use it because of how good it looks!

I did some little tweaking around here and there, and ulimately, I still can't decide, so maybe you guys could help me out!

I could go with the full, modern (and current) set I have right now:

Or go with the full, light, retro set:

Or lastly, I do some sorts of a hybrid system with the two sets:

The system could be something like this:

Primary Home Whites - Weeknight games
Yellow Home Alternate - Home Day games, Saturday Games

White w/light blue - Sunday throwbacks

Primary Road/Dark Blue Jerseys - On road, pitcher's choice

Something along these lines, or you have better ideas? haha

Go with another option of the different blues meeting in the middle to create a "neutral" blue and see how people like that.

I would go with the retro powder blue. It's unique to baseball but still looks great. The only other blue I would try out is royal blue.

If you want to go really retro, go all yellow uniforms for select games

I don't think you can go wrong any way, but the lighter set is the one that I would roll with if I had to choose. These look really good.

For the last few days I've been tooling around with my fantasy team, the Iowa Oaks. I thought about making a new thread, but I didn't want to cluster up the site with pointless threads, so I might as well post in this one! There haven't been any really "new" developments, but more of a "marketing" development which means banners and some jersey swaps and whatnot. I thought I'd just drop these off here and see what you guys think!

And if you have any other ideas of what kind of marketing stuff I should do, please do let me know! I'm always looking for new ideas to do with these things.

Yes, yes, I know the jersey/logo/cap swaps may seem a little too "fake," so if you know any photoshop techniques that could help me out, I'd love to hear them!!

If he's playing for Iowa why does his jersey say San Fran? Same with Kershaw and the Dodgers. Haha I'd clean that up if you want it to be perfect.

Heh, I know exactly what you mean. I guess I left it there just to emphasize that it is a fantasy sport team, not a real team, haha. But I haven't really fallen into the world of jersey-swapping quite yet but I can see myself doing it.

Do you know of any good resources that I could brush up on so I can practice with it?
