Kind of the opposite here, but it gave me an idea.

First day of high school football practise this year, one of my friends wore jeans in the middle of an August heat wave. The coaches didn't punish him, the heat was enough. He ended up quitting, but the guys who don't know him still recognize him as ''the pants kid''.

How bad would ankle-length pants look in the NFL?

Honestly, the shorts were worse. When the Mariners did the first TATC in 1998, they went all out, and it went really well. Players and fans of both teams loved it. Here's an article by Paul Lukas about that monumental day.

Who knew Griffey was such a style guy?

I was at that game. Several Mariners actually played several innings not only with their caps backwards, but their jerseys untucked. Showalter would have had a stroke.
