Yes the AUS v NZL game was played in terrible conditions. The pitch was like a skating rink and players on both sides had a real hard time holding onto the ball. They are hoping for better conditions in Auckland next Saturday for the second game of TRC. Cruden and Whitelock were standouts again for the All-Blacks but it seemed like McCall was off all game, giving up needless penalties and errors throughout. For the Wallabies, Carter and Folau had another standout performances against NZL. And I was presently surprised to see Beale having a good game from the kicking tee. If conditions were a little better, I think he would have nailed that penalty that rang off the right upright.

In the Springboks v Pumas game, Pumas controlled a lot of the ground game and held South Africa to only one try in the opening minute (which is huge for Argentina, this could be a big turn around tournament for the Pumas)

Round 2 of The Rugby Championship was full of thrills and absolute debacles, mostly from the Wallabies:

New Zealand 51-20 Australia

What a night and day performance from the Wallabies on Saturday. So many unforced errors, handling errors, lineout failures and pure lack of discipline from the side. Aaron Smith ad Sam Whitelock had some impressive games, Cruden being mister dependable from the tee. But the MotM was by far lock Brodie Retallick. That man was a complete brute force for the All-Blacks in the front line and in the scrums. Yet again you can see the great divide between the two Oceanic nations.

Argentina 31-33 South Africa

The Springboks seem to have a problem with the Pumas for the second straight match, with the white and sky blues matching the Springboks each and every time they striked. With that hard work and determination, the Pumas gained 2 points total from the matches and sit third place in the table ahead of Australia. This match was more entertaining to watch...love a good offensive tit for tat battle on the rugby pitch. I think the Springboks have gotten stronger of the years and this could be the year where they can challenge the All-Blacks for southern hemisphere superiority.

Round 3 fixtures (September 6):

New Zealand v Argentina

Australia v South Africa

Argentina 13-34 New Zealand

Both RSA and NZL picked up bonus points meaning with the final game being next week between RSA-NZL at Ellis Park is a mute point. NZL will win this year's Rugby Championship, their third in a row. Dominance continues in the southern hemisphere...can't wait for the Rugby World Cup next year!

NZL 5 21

RSA 5 15

AUS 5 10

ARG 5 3
