Kramerica Industries
What he did was indefensible, especially from a veteran who should have some goddamn maturity. He's a blight.I'm really quite glad that a 'Hawks fan is doing my annoying "scorned lovers" work for me.Honestly, just so that it's out in the open, I'll just say that the idea of St. Louis wanting to leave Tampa is not what bothered me, at all. Furthermore, until this season, the franchise looked like it was still stuck in dumpster fire mode. If he had requested a trade in the off-season, or been traded mid-way through another abysmal season (which, lets be honest, 90% of us would have predicted, especially going from the pillow soft Southeast division into a division that had Boston and Detroit and also had purported up-and-comers like Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal), well, whatever. He would have earned that right and I wouldn't say two negative words about him. I would've wished him the best and probably rooted like hell for the Rangers if everything else remained equal. What he did was accept the captaincy of the team, see his team play ~55 games well above expectations, most of them without their best player, and then poison the team with his Olympic snub BS. In other words, he found, literally, the one way to leave Tampa that would leave most people pissed off at him and staining his legacy. In retrospect, it's really quite impressive. I don't even think the Daniel Alfredsson BS was this bad in the vein that at least Alfredsson's departure was an off-season machination, not a poison the locker room midseason thing.Lastly, I also must say that I was shocked at how easily I moved on from it with regard to watching the Lightning play. At no point after that trade did I miss MSL or wish he were still around. He didn't want to be in Tampa anymore. Whatever. I just hope his bratty attitude isn't rewarded months later with a Cup hoisting, because talk about karma completely missing the mark.

LMU
A 3.0? Monday Night Raw gets higher ratings, and that show's currently running a feud between Russell Brand and Biff from Back to the Future.Actually, Raw got a 2.9 this past week And it certainly doesn't help when the damn game starts when a lot of people are still at work out here. Hell, I had to listen to the first ten minutes on the radio.
HedleyLamarr
I'm always skeptical when it comes to how exactly these ratings are counted. I mean, if a TV in a bar has the game on, are they counting the number of folks in the bar, or just the one TV. We've had Georgia football viewing/barbecue parties where we've had 30+ in attendance, but would our TV only count for 3 viewers?
Sodboy13
Public venues (bars) don't count in the ratings, which is why they're always in terms of "households". I believe that's why NBC shut down the Penguins' plaza viewings a few years ago - didn't want any Nielsen families out there.People lauding Kings-Rangers as NBC's wet dream don't quite get it. The Kings have a rabid following, but in the context of the Los Angeles metro, it's a rather small one. They can sell out night upon night, but Los Angeles simply has too much going on at any given time to get the widespread casual viewership. (Plus, as LMU mentioned, the games start at 5:00pm Pacific). So why are Lakers games ratings gold? Because the Lakers are a national phenomenon, with fans in sizable numbers throughout the country. The Kings don;t have that - probably no U.S. hockey team has that. Hawks-Rangers would probably give NBC bigger numbers than Kings-Rangers, despite the smaller market.
