I think we may have even beaten a participant city semi-recently. It'd be nice if we got to win one of these things...It's really remarkable how well Buffalo does in the TV ratings, despite having a sub-par NHL team of their own and not having the raw number of general hockey fans other cities have. Between them and Cleveland, I really do not know who deserves a sports championship more, but man will that day be so precious to either of that city's people. In spite of their recent horribleness, the Sabres have been a pretty competitive team for most of their existence. They've only missed the playoffs 14 out of 43 seasons... 5 of those times in the last 7 years. They're an OK organization that has just gone off the rails.
