Rite of Spring '14: Can you fall asleep with a panic switch?

New chant for the Best Fans in Hockey:

LA BEAT YOU! LA BEAT YOU! LA BEAT YOU! LA BEAT YOU!

You know, I'm all for celebrating, but come on at least give us 24 hours. Sheesh. :upside: This is way the Sharks have played all season. They were known for their fast starts, and poor finishes in games. This was just the larger, and maybe largest scope, in that it was the same Sharks mantra of fast start and poor finish, in a series aspect.

BTW - I want to punch Mike Milbury in the face.

Good news? Maybe this will put an end to Black Armor sweaters in the playoffs....

vs Kings 2013-10 goals in 7 games

vs Kings last 4 games this year-5 goals in 4 games

This is inexcusable and happens every year.......

Sharks=Rich man's Oakland A's in the playoffs?

HOLY FUC#ING MOTHER OF SWEET MOTHER FUC#ING JESUS FUC#ING CHRIST!!! I FUC#ING LOVE THIS FUC#ING SPORT!!!

now that you've actually seen something this incredible happen, I know it's asking a lot from you, but that post after Game 4? Never, ever, do that again. Win an elimination game to play another elimination game? Yes, well, they played four, and they won four. Miracles do happen.

I mean, honestly. Consider what San Jose was after Game 3. They played brilliantly in the first 2 games, and finally got over the hump of beating a Sutter-led Kings team at home, in a game where San Jose was clearly outplayed...and LA lost painfully anyway.

That being said, I'm a half glass-empty person. I was waiting and expecting San Jose to apply the crusher after such a physiological Game 3 loss. These last four games were just the guillotine dangling over LA's head and I was expecting the Sharks to pull the lever. Even a part of me expected San Jose to learn all their mistakes and throw all their cards in tonight.

But holy crap, it wasn't even close. What I expected in the 3rd period was a similar Game 7 situation from Boston-Toronto last year. What we got was a warning sign that the Kings are a legitimate threat to claim the Cup. Ducks, 'Hawks, Bruins, Habs, others, be ready for us!

And finally at long last can I forget Game 3. Phew!

Ducks. Kings. Playoffs.

This might be competitive, but it is in no way going to be fun.

I'm going to lock myself in a bunker for the next couple of days to mentally prepare for the :censored: storm that's coming.

--

And San Jose, blow it up. Blow it all up.

I'll just say that from this King fan's perspective, I've got all sorts of respect for the Ducks, so here's hoping for a good series up and down the 5.

Uh. Yeah, sure. Same. :upside: (Honestly, the team itself, outside of Dustin Brown, is fine. Quick, Kopitar, even Doughty on any other team I'd be fine with. But there is just a large swath of Kings fans that I have no time for. People like you and Adam are fine, but man, there are a ton I just can not stomach.)

I'm sure it's going to be a great series, but I won't be able to enjoy it until after the fact. Not that I was ever going ready for it, I guess, but man. This is going to be rough. Seriously, I'm gonna need some time.

Go Ducks.

Comeback Complete.Outstanding job CuJo.

Cause CuJo Knows!!

Thank you?

There's nothing to say about the Kings but UNREAL!!! A comeback for the ages! But still, this was only Round One and the Ducks are going to be a hell of a challenge. I really look forward to the "Freeway Faceoff". (Ehh, not a fan of that name.)

And as for the Sharks' roster, GM and entire coaching staff, it needs to be nuked harder than Donald Sterling. This just ain't working.

Nope, the Sharks are committed to this core. They had their window to nuke it, but they chose to extend Thornton and Marleau instead. Everyone's locked up. They're masochists.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

How to put this Sharks collapse in one gif:

ku-xlarge.gif

I think that works.

I have a more fitting one, but it involves Kelly Wells and I'd probably get banned for posting it here.

For anyone who actually watched the end of that game (I sure as hell didn't), please tell me the fans booed the s**t out of the sharks as they left the ice.

So the important question for a Ducks fan, Bob Miler or Ducks broadcast on the radio for the next series?

Bob Miller isn't on Kings radio. That's Nick Nickson and Darryl Evans.

And why is that an important question? If you're a Ducks fan, I'd expect you to listen to Steve Carroll and Dan Wood.

hes been through this series. I like Steve and Dan but the fact that the broadcast is on a different station every night because of the angles is dam annoying.

If this series has a metaphor, it's this:

Sharks have a big advantage, get cocky, Kings take their shots, then come back and take it.

Will the Hawks win in 4 or 5?

Yes. Yes they will win in 4 or 5.

But that Wild/Avs series was outstanding. Four games in OT and two of the other three (don't let the 5-2 Game 6 score fool you) to the wire with Roy pulling his goalie.

The Wild played surprisingly well in the series...in fact I'd say they outplayed Colorado the majority of the time. Of course they had two choke jobs, unlike the Avs.

In any case, while a win over Chicago is a longshot at best, it's good to see them move on. Having one team be better than mediocre is the dream in Minnesota and maybe the Wild are setting themselves up for that next year.

Perhaps North American scumbag Matt Cooke can try to lull the Hawks to sleep (i.e. knock them out cold) with a panic switch.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Now that we're through the crapshoot round, I'll declare my rooting interests:

- Boston v. Montréal makes me want to drink battery acid

- What the hell, let's go with Chicago. Three Cups in five years is borderline dynasty territory, which would be pretty cool to see.
