Just passing through, I hate Rod Brind'Amour.

just texted him. He says he hates you too. Loves your mom though.

I know Eric Lindros loved Rod Brind'Amour's wiife.

Eric Lindros probably loved a lot of wives. The Flyers have Hextall in waiting so why not bring back Brind'Amour too. Snider is certifiably nuts. There is a huge problem with the culture and he has no idea.

Hey as long as the Flyers fail its all good, and I dont know about other wives, but he certainley shacked up with Brind'Amour's wive and led to the trade to Carolina

Mr. Snider praised Paul Holmgren for having the guts to fire a bad coach 3 games in to the season (but wasn't he the GM that brought the "bad" coach back in the first place?) and said he's coming back for as long as he wants to, and Ron Hextall (who was named heir apparent) is free to look elsewhere.

More Flyering. "Homer" now has been promoted to president (clearly he deserved a promotion), and Hextall promoted to GM. Right after saying that wasn't happening.

Ed Snider is basically one Darth Vader peace summit away from being Al Davis. What the hell is this team?

You mean "Mr. Snider". Like when Vince McMahon became Mr. McMcMahon... only this happened in real life.

Former Whaler and Ron Francis teammate/trademate Ulf Samuelsson is in heavy consideration for the Carolina job, to the surprise of no one. Between the country club, the goal horn, and the Plymouth team, it's like this organization will do everything to honor the Hartford Whalers except PLAY IN HARTFORD.

Leafs fans should switch from waffles to toast this season.

Paul Holmgren

I like him. For some reason he reminds me of Roy Scheider. I would pay him to say "We're gonna need a bigger boat".

The way Mr. Snider operates, I'm half expecting Pelle Lindberg's drunk corpse to be named director or player personnel next week.

Heck - they keep Bernie Parent around to play the role of "most interesting man in the world" / "chick magnet", Bob Kelly as "ambassador" (AKA secretary of partying down), and now "Homer" as the "authority figure".

I think Ian Laperrier's CTE is director of scouting, while Laperrier himself is actually wandering around the streets aimlessly because he can't remember where he lives. Don't worry, Ian - Mr. Snider has room at his house for you. They could film their own version of "Legends House" with all the old hasbeens they keep in "the family".

I love nostalgia as much as anybody and I love watching the old games, but it is beyond ridiculous how Snider hangs onto the past. He reminds me of a senile guy in a home that can only remember one moment in his life (or 2 in this case).

Carlyle avoids the axe, instead he gets an extension.

And Nonis goes on about how he's the "right guy" for this team, and will probably bring in more "Randy Carlyle-type players" at the expense of you know, good players. Letting MacArthur walk and buying out Grabbo so you can afford Clarkson: what's wrong with that? Players who fit your temporary system are far more valuable than those who can actually play. It's science.

It's worth noting that the second year of the contract is a club option, and that he'll likely be canned before season's end if were doing poorly. But still, it shouldn't take that for the Leafs to fire him, along with Nonis, who may be even worse.

I can't say that I'm surprised, but I'm still disappointed. Spezza is certainly never going to win a Selke, which has made him an easy target for fans and the media, but point per game centers don't grow on trees. Turris has elevated his game and I can see him continuing to improve but IMO depth down the middle is one of the best things an organization can have. I'm just not comfortable with Turris - Z-bad - Smith - Pageau/Grant. My opinion on the trade would obviously depend on the return, but I feel like his name always gets circulated in trade rumours when his value is at its lowest. Murray has been trying to find him a linemate that he has chemistry with ever since the :censored: all-star left town, and now that they finally found someone (I know Hemsky is a UFA, but I think they'll have a good shot at re-signing him if Spez is still around), they're ready to ship him out. It was never going to be easy for anyone wearing the C after Alfie so I think it's unfair to blame him for the leadership issues. I think the fans who have wanted him out for the past few years will be in for a rude awakening if he actually leaves. Next year will be a make-or-break year for the organization considering all the upcoming UFAs (Spezza, Ryan, MacArthur, Methot, Anderson), along with the guys who need to show that they deserve to stay on the team (Cowen, Greening, Wiercioch). I'd rather see how the year goes, and if things aren't looking good then you move Spezza to a contender sometime before the deadline.

With the Rangers' win tonight, they forfeit their first-round pick to the Lightning, which will come somewhere between 26-29. Tampa also picks somewhere between 17-22. Some kind of two-for-one trade-up might be enticing if they can get someone to bite.

Much more likely the Lightning try to use that extra first round pick as part of a package to try and find a first or second pairing RHD because that's a pretty big glaring weakness on the roster right now, and I know I'm not the only person leery about paying Matt Niskanen out his ass this offseason. The Lightning have quite a bit of forward depth that could be of use, be it at the NHL level or in Syracuse (ahem, Brett Connolly...) to try and put something together.

After Victor Hedman, the Lightning's D corps is not very enticing. Matt Carle and Radko Gudas is a pairing that did not work; Eric Brewer needs to stay confined to the 3rd pairing, Mark Barberio umm, and Sami Salo is probably on the outs. As it looks right now...

Hedman-

Carle-

Gudas-Brewer

Res: Barberio/Kostka

Andrej Sustr will probably be in that mix somewhere, but there's another spot that needs to be filled. Mark Barberio is best left as a #7D/PP specialist for when Cooper dresses an 11/7 lineup.

But, yeah, thanks for that Rangers. The 2015 1st round pick, too.

Sharks tweeted this out a little big ago:

San Jose Sharks majority owner Hasso Plattner today released the following statement:

“I am very disappointed in the way our team finished the 2013-14 season. Gaining a 3-0 series advantage and being unable to advance is a major blow to our organization and fan base. Our teams have been consistently built to go deep into the playoffs and this goal won't change.

Doug Wilson and I have met over the past two weeks. He has shared his support of the coaching staff, as well as his recommended changes to our team’s roster, and he has my complete support moving forward.

I want to thank our extremely loyal fans and partners for their continued support and to let them know that we are not satisfied with the status quo of the last several seasons.

I am confident that with the proposed changes, Doug and his staff will build a team we can all be proud of.”

Looks like career journeyman Zenon Konopka has been banned for 20 games for using PED's.

Can't say it's helped him much, last time he's gotten over 5 points in a season was 4 years ago and he's never held a postive +/- in his entire career.
