SFGiants58
golden state is unique.I'm hoping for the name change, sooner than later. MLB: Project 32 (Complete), MLB: The Defunct Saga (Complete)
phutmasterflex
I prefer that they don't change it since the team is the Bay Area's team and not just one city's team Go A's!
Old School Fool
I'm not opposed to it but Golden State is classic, but then so is San Francisco, so uh... do whatever.
illwauk
If it were up to me, I'd go with San Francisco Bay Warriors. It's keeps San Francisco in the brand name, but still claims the entire region.

Bleujayone
How about the Golden GATE Warriors? We all have our little faults. Mine's in California.
imawalkingcorpse
How about the Golden GATE Warriors?Yes, especially since they make all of us fans want to jump off the bridge. I hate the new Buccaneers logo. Pewter was boring in 97, even more boring now.
FiddySicks
How about the Golden GATE Warriors?Oh yeah that'd be real great considering they have the Bay Bridge as a logo. They should just change to San Francisco. Or just keep the Golden State moniker. Either way, I'd be happy. I'd like to say that calling them the Bay Area Warriors would be cool, but I feel like that'd get old really fast. Tigers6884
I think Oakland fans would be angered by the change. Especially considering the Athletics situation in baseball.
BBTV
Since they are the ultimate representation of the Bay Area - representing San Fransisco, Oakland, San Jose, and everything else, the clear answer is to drop all location identifiers and simply become the Ultimate Warriors. It's unique, and not in the mangled fork variety in that overused meme. It works. Bay Area WarriorsCalifornia WarriorsNorthern California WarriorsNorCal WarriorsSan Fran Warriors...yeah, none of those really work. Stick with "Golden State." monkeypower
Where did Golden State come from in the first place? There's no other team whose geographical identifier is the nickname of the state or city they're in.
hawk36
Didn't Golden State come when they moved from San Francisco to Oakland and didn't want to be called the Oakland Warriors? Maybe I'm wrong. Design Hovie Studios

Discogod
Back in '96 there were rumours that the team would change to "Oakland Warriors" when they returned to the refurbished Oracle Arena after a 1-year sojourn in San Jose. Glad that never happened. The "Golden State" nickname came fabout in the early 70s when the team intended to become a "regional" team (much like several ABA teams). Whilst they would still play the bulk of their home games in Oakland, they also planned to play a few games in places like SF, San Jose & San Diego. That idea was abandoned pretty quickly, although they did still play 6 home games in SD during their first season as Golden State.
