The_Admiral
When you read about just what a grotesque Donald Sterling is, admit it: part of you has to think it'd be pretty fun. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Lights Out
...and Sterling apparently has cancer.Prostate cancer. Ironic, since when one of our assistant coaches had prostate cancer a few years ago, Sterling wouldn't help pay for the surgery.Between his health issues and the slim chances of winning, he's even more delusional than I thought if he seriously tries to fight the NBA on this. The_Admiral
If the league doesn't let him just pass the team on to his daughter and his son-in-law, about whom people seem to be saying nice things, then you'll know this is just as much about getting Guggenheim in as it is getting Sterling out. Funny, going from ownership that wants to simulate owning black people to ownership that wants to actually own all people. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Fair or not, if the team went to Sterling's son-in-law, everyone would just assume that Donald is still the one pulling the strings from his penthouse. Only a complete split from the Sterlings will do, and I agree with that sentiment. POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/

Raysfan12
What's wrong with new ownership moving the Clippers to Seattle??? Los Angeles: 2nd Largest Market (Staples Center)Seattle: 12th Largest Market (No new arena yet)I think not.Seattle can have the Bucks or an expansion team.Couldn't the Clippers move to Anaheim and maintain the Los Angeles title like the Angels do?I have never been a fan of teams being the little brother in their own stadium (Lakers are still the main team in Staples as far as I am concerned). That's what I'm hoping, that they consider Anaheim as a landing place. Honda Center was renovated to be NBA ready and it would give the Clippers a way to remain part of the lucrative LA market while also differentiating themselves more from the Lakers.Would they be called the Los Angeles Clippers of Anaheim? I love the idea though because they stay around the LA area yet don't have to share the Staples Center with the Lakers.

JQK
Kinda odd seeing people here wish death on someone for having an (obviously backward and stupid) opinion.Yes, the guy is a douchebag, but wishing death on someone? That's a bit much, no? The guy didn't fly a plane into any buildings or invade a country or rape babies... (that we know of)... wonderbread
You should never wish death on anyone. Honestly some of you are sounding worse than Sterling. Sterling just said some racist comments, and performed some racist business practices. He never killed anyone from his actions, and hurt a few by having them live in :censored:ty living conditions hoping they would leave. You could say Andrew Jackson did the same thing to the Cherokee but on an even grander scale when asked about how they should get the natives to "voluntarily" move to the indian territory on their own by saying "if you light a fire under them they will move." And you know what that is what happened.

monkeypower
You shouldn't wish death on anyone, no matter what they may or may not have done (not in Sterling's case we know what he's done). However, I feel that you should wish death on the way of thinking that people like Sterling have.
Sport
To use another Marge Schott example, when she died it wasn't a happy day because I'm not a monster, but there also wasn't widespread sadness throughout the Reds fanbase. She had sold the team a few years earlier, but there was still a feeling of relief because we could finally move on.

He grew up in a time when this kind of behavior was actually acceptable. Hell, that's no excuse, but to wish death upon someone for having beliefs that didn't exactly differ from what was (at one point) an acceptable belief. Do I respect this guy? Heck no. But I would never wish death upon anybody for having different beliefs then mine. I would only wish death upon the lowest people.
