Tigers6884
With the recent outcry over the New York Yankees increasing use of their Diamond Era caps instead of their iconic hats, plus the awesomeness that is the Arizona Diamondbacks throwback cap for this year, I decided to start a new topic based on one of the more overlooked parts of the baseball uniform: the cap. I have many favorite baseball caps, so without further ado, here they are.(Note: these are in no particular order)1. Detroit Tigers home cap: I know, bias on my part. But these are one of the most classic caps in Major League Baseball. Plus, you can't go wrong with the Olde English D logo.2. Montreal Expos Pinwheel": Vibrant colors? Check. Classic logo? Check. These two elements combine to form one of the most recognizeable hats in baseball history.3. Pittsburgh Pirates 1970's Pillbox": I know. A verry unpopular opinion over here. But it's got a certain uniqueness about it that just makes it stand out to me. It also helps that the Pirates won their last World Series wearing these.4. Toronto Blue Jays classic logo hat (1977-1993): The multi-colored version, in my opinion, is far supperior to the solid color cap that followed. On a side note, I loved the color of the top feathers" of the Blue Jay's head in their logo.5. Florida Marlins inagural teal cap: Here we go. One of the most beloved hats in MLB history, and certainly one cap I hope to add to my collection. The now Miami" Marlins made a huge mistake by abandoning the teal that laid the foundation for their identity, and it shows in the awful hats they wear today. I was overjoyed when New Era brought this cap back for sale, especially since they crafted them like they were right out of the 90's.Well guys, that's my list. Sorry for the long read. I'm even more sorry considering that I have another topic running in this same forum (Uniforms and Identities that You Miss In Sports), but I just felt like this was the perfect time to start this topic and share my list with you. What's your list?
Moser316
I used to be a big New Era guy for hats, but two things soured me on them: the NASCARization of the BP hats and the ridiculously high crowns on the 59/50s. I also became a big fan of the throwback hats when J. Crew started their partnership with Ebbets Field Flannels. They came out with some cool designs, but I will never wear them because they're all strap backs (which I think look so dorky). Striking a compromise, I discovered American Needle's Cooperstown Collection library of authentics, which are fitted, low crown, and don't have the logo creep that the New Era hats have. I bought a Milwaukee Braves throwback a month ago and absolutely love it. I'm looking forward to adding more to my collection in the near future. Hat Boy
So much better without the pinstripes, the drop shadow, the black bill, the black crown or any other crazy version the Reds have rolled out over since the '90s.

McCall
Best cap in baseball. This was:Nope, the teal with black bill version was better. True. Both were good but never the best in baseball. Btw that teal one appears to have the logo centered by the 'F', which was never how it was. They always centered it by the overall dimensions of the logo. Check any game photos. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
