I liked how tight baseball uniforms were in the 1970s/80s- but there was still room for freedom of movement in those things then. It looks a lot more better than the bagginess that is prevalent today.

No. There wasn't room. And they looked like little leaguers. Never should the 70's/80's come back.

I have been and always will be a supporter of calf high pants and stirrups. I hate seeing baseball pants all bunched up at the bottom of the players leg, just looks sloppy!

Bary Zito was the perfect "poster" boy on how to wear the baseball uniform.

Alright, I'm going to give this another go, I know the last thread got sent graveyard, but I think it was a good thread until a member began posting propaganda about pullovers.

I miss (the look, I'm far too young to have actually seen them) zipper fronts, I think a couple of teams (Cardinals especially) could use one as a alternate. I also like the look of striped socks.

Note: Certain member, please refrain from turning this thread into your pullover campaign, if you post one, please give reasons outside of the ultimate baseball look crap, and this isn't for your propaganda.

Don't blame me when people can't discuss things in a civil manner.

It's not a discussion, you're shoving pullovers down our throats and we don't like that. I didn't say you couldn't post, just don't Phantom-jack this thread and none of that ultimate baseball uniform golden era bs. Please.

You've been suspended before for spamming it on this board. New, intelligent posts won't be attacked- spewing "athletic wear" and ultimate baseball look is nothing more than dollar store logic.

Anyone who knows me around here knows that I love the old stuff, but I agree 100%. The mid 70's thru the mid 80's were baseball's version of what's currently going on with football uniforms. That was one ugly-ass era for baseball uniforms.

Is it me or is the stirrups look starting to become a bit more prominent again? Or maybe it's just me actually paying attention to baseball more than just reading UniWatch daily...

Honestly, I miss baseball actually being America's Favorite Pastime. I was born in 1994, and I grew up feeling like baseball was top of the top. I've never been an MLB fan, but I always felt like baseball was the way to go. Now, for whatever reason, it's #3 among the Big 3, possibly #4 if you add enough hockey fans (in my eyes that is). Football has surpassed baseball as the top sport, and basketball also, if they aren't equal right now.

For me it has to be the pants. I can't stand the long, sweat pants looks. Just doesn't seem baseball to me. Thankfully there are a handful of pros who still are holding the torch for proper pant length.

Somewhat unrelated, but I absolutely cannot believe that this particular combo was ever shelved by the Mariners. It's absolutely perfect for an alt. The teal billed hat should be the primary home cap, and it's really surprising that it ever went away with how many all navy caps are already in baseball.

^ I recently got ahold of their rare teal-crown/navy-bill cap worn during the mid-1990s; I would love to see that hat come back in some capacity. The Mariners really oughta 'own' the teal look. It's their best uniform set ever, a modern classic.
