BrianLion
I like the idea of wearing whites at home for half the season, then switching at, say, the All-Star (or Olympic) break to colors for the rest of the season and playoffs. To my eye, your colors pop more against a white background -- Minnesota, Boston, Buffalo, Rangers are some top examples of that. Here in Washington, they only alt they have is the Winter Classic jersey from 3 years ago. it's white and they've only worn it on the ROAD!Also, what about allowing teams to travel WITHOUT the second set of helmets for a given trip if one home team wants to do something a little different? "Mis-matching" helmets is done all the time in international play. (FYI, when USA wears white helmets with blue jerseys, it looks really dorky)This is exactly what they did in the 1992/1993 season when they celebrated the 100th Birthday of the Stanley Cup. Well they went white at home to the ASB, dark at home after, but then back to home whites for the playoffs. This was of course before 3rd jerseys really became a "thing"
HedleyLamarr
Let the home team decide which jersey they want to wear. If they want to wear whites or colors or go half-and-half, let them make their choice before the season and have it published so the road teams can prepare.thats not going to work logistically because their are 82 games to plan this out for, and these plans are going to change through out the season, it works in the NFL because their are on 16 games with 8 being at home. So explain how an NHL team can't publish which jersey they're going to wear for 41 games multiple months in advance?
ohryan
White at home. Thirds all blow anyway.I agree. I wouldn't be at all upset to get rid of the thirds altogether. It's just a money-grab.
Buffalo
I agree. Whites at home was to enable fans to see all the different colored unis from the visiting teams. Now it's always HOME COLOR vs. WHITE AWAY team
