Before presenting the "3D" models, I must thank Darth Brooks for his very helpful photoshop tutorial, up in the pinned area of Concepts.

I'm using an old Mac OS 9 version, so many tutorials leave me a little confused.

Darth puts the process of creating a template into easy-to-understand steps. Thanks DB.

Why wasn't this out there when I was a kid? I'm liking your carrot logo, but I feel like the W on top of the carrot makes it seem less like a carrot. Not exactly sure how to fix this, maybe make the W look more like a leaf?

Once again, Sparky blows me away. Speaking as a former 7 year old, kids will love this. Great job!

Yes.. I think we're all former 7-year-olds, and It is great.

Yeah, it's off a little, the one in the middle is better.

Minimal Logos and Uniforms

Waska-Lea Wabbits Minimal Logo

The carrot is sacred to the Rabbit community.

For the inhabitants of Waska-Lea, the orange 'n green veggie, was their "gold".

The fertile area allowed the Waska family to be the leaders in carrot production and later, that carrot money funded other ventures.

So, it's no wonder that the Wabbits adopted the orange and green as their colours, and utilized the carrots triangular shape in the logo.

The letter "W" could form the green leafy part at the top...

I hear your comments about the "carrot" logo.

Keep in mind, that these first logos are super-simple, for use on the unis appearing in the book.

They've gotta be real easy to hand-draw, often on a very small scale.

The enhanced and vintage logos (coming later) will be more detailed.

However...You guys are right... the carrot could look a little more 'carrot-ish', while K.I.S.S.

I think that this works a little better...

As always, thanks for the input.

The Rushin'River Bears Minimal Logo

The Bears forged their Wild League identity from their Soviet/Russian heritage.

They combined the sickle and star from the old U.S.S.R., with the colours of the newer Russian federation.

They also borrowed from the iconic sweaters of the "good ol' days" of the CCCP "red machine"....

Wow, it's been a long while since I've visited this forum, and what an amazing thread to suck me back in.

Sparky, as a wannabe children's author myself, can I suggest Print-on-demand (such as Amazon's Createspace) as a way of getting your work out there if publishers don't get on board. I've self-published a few titles this way - it's the no minimums that make it attractive, I don't sell many, but I'm not paying for unused copies.

Never fail to amaze me,

Just incredible stuff,

Your logos and unis,

Just can't get enough.

But it doesn't end there,

No sir, Chewbarky,

How 'bout that weavlerabbearat

I mean, just plain malarky!

Yes of course in a good way!,

Gave me a case of concept fever,

But it doesn't end there,

How 'bout them Ontario Beavers!?... and the Northlands...and the Highlanders...the Kraken looked sick...And the Jabberwockey hockey! Whew!

The wabbits and the bears,

They both look superb,

Bet children will love this,

Just one more little blurb.

Keep 'em all coming,

Can't wait for the rest,

As they're all such fun concepts...

Dude, you da best!

Hi DeadFish...How are things in Oz?

I tried the self-publishing thing once: It was kind of expensive to start, and didn't really work out. (a great learning experience though)

Also, there was no advantage of the marketing and networking resources that a large publisher could offer.

I'm hoping to sway a pub with the "added-on" cross-promotional possibilities that would be possible with this concept.

...But I'm curious- What did you self-publish? How'd it go?

Much better with the Wabbits logo. It's a small change that made a huge difference.

The Bears logo is clever. Really liking it!

Thanks for your input, mr.nascar.

Stop it Sparky, you're drunk.

I am MrWonka....Drowning my sorrows after hearing the results from the Ontario Provincial election.
