PhlyBoy
Darren Rovell tweeted this out. Official logo. Says they will go back to the roman numerals for LIHere is the regional logo
DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
Probably a good call. The L by itself woulda looked pretty dopey.I had no idea this game is going to be played in San Fran's new stadium btw. The regional logo looks pretty good. Needschat
Great decision, since the Super Bowl has gone beyond L(arge) decades ago! Oh what could have been....
TheRicSlick
A better decision would have been to make a logo that was unique, not a copy of the past 5 SB.
FUNKAFIED
Count me as part of the "Generic logos stink" group, but that regional logo is pretty great. Â
SCL
Would've liked if entire logo was gold and maybe an actual gold Lombardi Trophy for the 50th SB.
RyanB06
The Lombardi itself isn't gold. Why show it as such in the logo? GeauxColonels
Does anyone else find the use of "regional" names kind of annoying? I understand WHY they do it....but I just find it annoying.

Gothamite
Yeah, no thanks. The silver looks much better. What are the landmarks in the regional logo? I see the Transamerica Pyramid, the Ferry Building, the Coit Tower and the Golden Gate Bridge. Are there any "regional" landmarks that aren't actually in San Francisco itself? yh
My friends, they had little choice but to abandon the L, otherwise you'd have to call the game "Super Bowl Capital L" in order to distinguish it from "Super Bowl Lower Case L" which was played in January, 1967. Gothamite
Hmm. I was thinking Muir Woods, myself.I just think it's ironic that they insist on "San Francisco Bay Area" but then don't show anything that's not CIty of San Francisco except the stadium itself. Sort of like how the "New York/New Jersey" Super Bowl used nothing but NYC imagery (again, except for the stadium itself):About the only thing that wasn't NYC alone was either a bridge that leads to NYC or the little bit of Jersey that snuck in behind the city's skyline. But other than that, it was all New York City: The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! burgundy
I wonder if the flat logo will have the gold reflection on the Lombardi trophy.Don't like this logo, nor the logo system, but at least its not a giant L. But that's kinda like saying, "I hate having diarrhea, but at least it doesn't burn."
