Few things, the primary is a bit off to me. Don't know if the issue lies in the actual way to designed it or if it's just a personal preference, but the perspective seems off too me. I love the idea of using UFOs and playing on Area 51.

Now I love the color scheme as well as the design in the secondary logo! Fits so perfectly IMHO.May I suggest using it in a Virigna Tech pro-combat sort of way? I think the uniforms need work (at least the primary). Looks like they just got 'slimed' on Nickelodeon. I think incorporating more of that design as I stated earlier would be a good route to take.

The other thing that's strange to me is the use of Palm trees, when I think of palm trees I think of beaches (Miami, Hawaii, California, etc) not Vegas. Even though I'm sure Vegas has Palm trees (and even a hotel called the Palms lol). But I think the use of a cactus and maybe some tumbleweeds would make it more Old West-Vegas ish.

Overall good concept! Much improved over Omaha which still looks like a light bulb to me. Lol

that is amazing

LAS VEGAS FLYERS

My original idea for Las Vegas was to use a gambling/casino themed name like Aces/Kings/Jacks/etc, but that seemed too obvious. I think the more interesting history of Las Vegas is it's association with Area 51 and all the alleged alien activity. I settled on the name Flyers, because after all, that's what Area 51 is known for, unidentified flying objects. Flyers is a name usually associated with airplanes, so I wanted this to be unique take on a classic sports name. I started out with just a simple spaceship as the primary logo, but it's a little too awkwardly-shaped/oblong. Multiple UFO's are often reported as flying in a triangular or diamond formation, so that's what I tried to represent here. The primary logo shows 4 UFO's "swooping" down, from space I suppose. I included 2 alternate logos for Las Vegas. I originally just had the palm tree/flying saucer as the alternate, but I feel like a Las Vegas team wouldn't be complete without an LV monogram. I went with a futuristic-looking L and V with an "alien" pattern on the inside, something that's also found on the team's paddles. I mimicked the streaking design from the primary on the sleeves of the home uniform. The clash uniforms features a more traditional basketball-inspired design with a front wordmark and number. The tapered design on the sleeves and shorts is meant to represent a beam of light coming from an alien spacecraft. At first I made the court an all-black and gray design, but I think that would be too overwhelming and tough to watch, especially for a team wearing all-black unis. I'm going to keep most of the bounceball courts a lighter color than the uniforms for contrast. This was definitely a very fun concept to make, let me know what you think!

I like the idea of using a cactus instead of the palm trees. Palm trees certainly don't come to mind when thinking of Las Vegas.

When it comes to the primary all I can see is a batman like logo with the movement lines. Maybe that's whats throwing it off.

Love evrything else though. Especially that wordmark!

You said that UFOs fly in a diamond shape so why not change the primary logo to a diamond shape with a UFO at each point with a "trail" similar to one you already have?

They are in a diamond shape. Just viewed from an angle.

I blink for one minute, and someone has four pages of a new series in play.

Neat stuff overall, although I have to say that each version of the O logo of Omaha got more muddled. The final version does indeed look anatomical, and except for it making an O shape, there's no way I'm looking at it independently of the other logos and coming away saying "Hey, that's a covered wagon from behind." It's missing too many other visual cues, such as wheels. To be honest, the first version of the logo, I thought it was a hot air balloon first THEN I said, no, it's a lightbulb.

One suggestion someone else made that I think you should incorporate into Las Vegas as well, is utilize the shape of the paddle in the logos. Baseball and Basketball both have several teams that include their balls or diamonds or nets into the logo to really cement what sport it's associated with. Especially for a new sport like Bounceball, having either the paddles incorporated, or the ball (if it has a unique pattern or stitching) would add some heft. For Omaha, what if instead of a straight on rear end shot of the wagon, it's slightly angled, so we can see a little bit of the wagon and maybe part of the wheels. But the shape of the paddle is kind of the shape of the back of the wagon, circa the early lightbulb versions. So possibly make the exact back shape of the wagon the paddle, with the rest of the covered wagon extending back from that. For Vegas, keep the same basic shapes for the ships, but imagine the paddle as being the outline of the ship, so the flat bottoms of the ships would extend backwards with the handle sort of being the engines of each ship.

The Flyers look great! Good work there. I know people are saying a cactus works better than the palm but I think the tree is a nice nod to the Las Vegas resorts. It's not all "up in yo face" like any other gambling theme secondary would be.

When you do get back to Omaha I also vote for a wagon wheel being used as the primary. I think it would make a solid crest on the jerseys and there is less room for innuendo.

Love everything about this concept. My favorite part is that black is the primary, instead of highlighter. Where's the next team gonna be?

The next team will be Virginia (Beach). After that each city will be a surprise.

I understand the issue with perspective, my intention was for it to look like the ships had come "swooping" down from space and are now traveling forward, toward the viewer.

I love the idea of working the alien pattern into the uniform, that's something I'll look into.

As far as the palm trees go, I actually think they are pretty well associated with Vegas, especially the very tall skinny ones in a row, like this. I will try out a version with a cactus though.

Something else I thought of, what color is the ball for this sport? If it's white the white court would be an issue.

I was imagining the ball being a translucent neon color (green, yellow, orange, pink) so it would be easy to follow the fast pace.

Something I wanted to get away from in this sport is the use of the ball/paddle in the logos. Too many of the Big 4 sports franchises use a ball in their primary logo IMO, and in some cases it ends up looking forced. The NFL is a good example of what I'm going for, only 4 teams use a helmet/ball in their logo.

As for Omaha, I'm considering a more 3/4 view version as well. We'll see, I'm gonna take a break from that one for a while.

I think everything I would critique has been covered (the saucers, palm trees), but the thing I would reiterate is the sleeves on the home kit. They look too slimy. That was actually the first thing I noticed. But the sliminess, I guess, depends on how you envision the actual aliens. :)

As a kid, we played this in the summer on a basketball court. Winter was street hockey, summer was team racquetball (what we called it). We used tennis rackets and tennis balls. We always thought it would really be a great game. Our only difference was we had goaltenders. I look forwad to this thread....

Addressing response #1: Yeah, I don't think thats what you really achieved here with this logo. Its too squished and it kinda looses that flow forward motion you are talking about. I think its close to being very good just needs a little more tweaking to get that forward motion.

Like I said Alien design is the best part of this concept (most unique too!) so I'm glad you're going to attempt to put that into the uniform!

The Palm Trees I guess make sense if you think of the Strip, their are tons of palm trees along there. Like someone said before its a good nod to the strip so makes sense now. Cactus screams desert to me, but since this team is located in Sin City I can see how Palm Trees are acceptable and well I like that mark a whole lot more with that description.

Addressing response #2: Thats awesome, I think neon-orange could work nicely (or have several different colors so they always contrast with the teams coloring?) like you wouldn't use a neon green with Vegas or a neon-orange with Omaha.

Loving this so far, looks like we could see the first 'made-up sport thread' that could rival Yakball from Raysox!

LAS VEGAS FLYERS UPDATE

I took all suggestions into consideration and made some tweaks to the primary logo. I realize the perspective was off a little with the motion lines, so I fixed it to better match the angle of the ships. I also slightly altered the outline shape to match that of the famous Las Vegas welcome sign. Ultimately I decided to keep the palm trees as I think it ties in well with the Strip. I made some changes to the uniform that chrisCLEMENT suggested, excellent ideas BTW. I simplified the home uniform, using green more minimally as an accent color on the sleeves and collar.

I will post an updated apparel image later. I've decided upon a name for Virginia but I'm not sure when I'll get started on it, I'm pretty busy this week.
