Apparently Wednesday's game between Omaha and Boston has been canceled, and a "championship game" will be played later in the month.

Can you say UFL?

The UFL was more stable than this

From the Brooklyn Bolts Facebook page:

"Brooklyn Bolts

The Inaugural Season of the FXFL is officially over. The league tried to put together a championship game for next week, but logistically they weren't able to make it work. The Bolts finish the season with a 4-0 record and in 1st place. Thanks to the over 8,000 fans who came through the gates and helped to ‪#‎BringTheThunder‬."

So much for that Championship Game idea. "weren't able to make it work" = Out of $$$.

Plus, trying to have a game over Thanksgiving weekend on such late notice illustrates stupidity for not realizing airplane are generally SOLD OUT during the holidays! Also doesn't help that the most recent comments are from the Omaha coach and a franchise, not from the league office/CEO. Some Omaha players still claim they haven't been paid for their last game.

Bump as they appear to be back for 2015.

While some staff and players from last year are waiting to be paid, the Boston team will move to Mahoning Valley (Youngstown OH) and Omaha appears to also move to the NY/Penn League with an franchisee owner in Hudson Valley.

They will have tryouts in three of their cities, for $85 and two days before their camps open.

And here is the Mahoning Valley seating chart.

Youngstown? Uh... yeah.

You can put the fork in them now. They're done.

I hope for failure as well, however the endgame for the founder, Brian Woods, is to stay in business long enough to be bought by the NFL and when you're able to "sell" franchises to three minor league baseball teams, you limit your expenses and hopefully be able to pay players and staff owed last seasons's wages. I say three as Omaha is not returning as they were "bought" by the Hudson Valley Renegades.

He has less expenses this year, but oddly keeps a "traveling squad" as the Blacktips.

If only there was a embarrassing and juvenile nickname that fans of the Fort's arch-rival could call them.

If only there were fans . . . or another team, for that matter.

FXFL pulls team since the league cannot afford it.

"We found out over the weekend and we've been trying to work on any way possible to keep a team," Taylor said. "It was 100 percent a league decision, not our decision. We are not owners of the team, we just have the venue and operate as marketers and promoters."
