College Football Hall of Fame

Recommended Posts

So, I was at the news conference at the new CFB HOF in Atlanta yesterday. Here are some pics from the event, and a sneak peak at some of the exhibits that are being built.

For what it's worth, I work for the company that is contracted to do all the large screen LED displays at the hall. I was there to make sure the presentation ran smoothly.

Lots of images to follow.

Why did they move it?

They never got the attendence numbers they wanted because South Bend is an unappealing city with zero tourism appeal other than the university.

Not getting people there was a shame because it was a neat place. When it opened it was impressive for its time.

This one is going to be 2.5 times the size, and in the middle of the south, attendance shouldn't be an issue.

I wonder where my brick is at.....

What's it say? I'll try to find it next time I'm there.

Closed on Sunday?

Make fun of Chick-Fil-A all you want, but I respect that franchise more because they stick to their values. I used to feel the same about Wal-Mart when Sam Walton was alive, but his kids greed got the best of that company.

I agree that it's a great sentiment to close on Sunday. However, it does seem like most of the time that I'm around a Chick-Fil-A and want to eat there, it's Sunday.

We visited the old Hall of Fame in South Bend and they did a good job with it. I'll have to go to the new place next time I'm in Atlanta.

Actually, it was a legitimate question. People may want to check it out if going to a Tech/GSU game Saturday and having some free time before a Sunday night flight. Or, making a weekend out of the SEC Championship game. I've not been able to tell if that is a viable option or if Chik-Fil-A's naming rights agreement included a stipulation to be closed on Sunday.

Definitely going to check that out at some point in time when it's finished. However, I did prefer back at South Bend since it was less than 2 hours from my house.

Proud to have worked on this project with the HOF. Here's a couple more shots of some of the things we worked on.

Very cool. Were you at the press conference?

Unfortunately no. I think I'll be attending some of the events surrounding the grand opening though.

So it is the only Chik-Fil-A in the world open on Sundays.

Why did they move it?

Because Atlanta has Chick-Fil-A. What multi-million dollar, nationally-known restaurant chain is based from South Bend?

So much for "sticking to their values." :P

Looks awesome, but I couldn't in good conscience visit this place given who it's underwritten by.
