Does anyone here read collegefootballnews.com? Does this guy Pete Fiutak just blatantly hate the Pac-10 or what?

I have a question now... and hopefully someone whose more up on the Pac-10 can answer it for me.
I saw on ESPN's bottom line last night that the SEC is really only interested in Texas and Oklahoma. If the SEC got them to join without their "dance partners," then what happens to A&M, Tech and Okie State? Would the Pac-10 still want them without the bigger schools it was assumed they'd come with... or would they be more likely to lock in on the Mountain West and go after the Utah schools, TCU and perhaps even Boise?
If Texas & Oklahoma join the SEC the Pac-10 in all likelihood would invite Utah to join Colorado in a 12 school Pac-10 instead of a 16 school mega conference.

I know it won't happen but I would love to see Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma & Oklahoma State bolt for the SEC instead and shake things up even more.

The MWC is just waiting things out. Boise State will eventually be added as the 10th member. No offense to Colorado but I think the Pac-10 should take Baylor instead of the Buffaloes. I know the expansion is all about football but Baylor has a better overall athletic department than Colorado does.
I'm wrong. Colorado would be a way better for the Pac-10 than Baylor.

IF this does go down and the Pac-10 is forced to take Baylor over Colorado, the Buffaloes would be a mortal lock to join Boise State in the Mountain West. If Baylor does get in, Colorado will be mighty pissed off.
Interesting article by Dan Wetzel over at Yahoo Sports:

If the Big 12 does cease to exist in a few years the Big Ten should grab the five north schools left out in the cold.
Yeah I know the Big Ten wants an east coast presence (jamming the Big Ten network into NYC to rake in the $$$$) with Rutgers and would basically do anything to grab Notre Dame (more $$$$). Iowa State & Kansas State would pretty much bring nothing to the table but Kansas, Missouri & Nebraska would.
East - Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue
West - Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin

The Big XII canceled their press conference last night. Since the meetings conclude this afternoon, last night had to be a dinner which Bebee told the presidents/chancellors, "are you in or out?" They are scheduled to speak this afternoon.
It's pretty much bye-bye Big 12 if Missouri & Nebraska don't commit to the preservation of the league

Good question. I was thinking the same thing.
