  1. So I have something to add to this page. Something that none of you probably know, but I own a business that sells custom Nike Elite socks. My business/brand is WizardSocks as you'll see. I design all of the socks myself and then sell them as obvious as that sounds.

But recently I noticed that another seller has completely stolen my "Ice Cream" design and is now selling it. There have been people who have ripped off my designs before but this one is actually exactly the same. I'm not sure what I can do about it, if there even is anything that I could do about this. It also doesn't help that he is selling these on Mercari, which is an app like eBay, I've complained to Mercari multiple times about counterfeit products and they seem to not even car so I doubt they will do anything about this.

Anyway, here is my design (that I have been selling for a year) on the top, and their stolen design is on the bottom.

  2. Does anyone know exactly how I could report trademark infringement to the NBA. I'm really tired of this "company" that is selling outright NBA logos and players on their products while other companies lose business to them because they don't want to commit that crime?

    Anyone know?

  3. An instagrammer known as @helmetconcepts is trying to sell t-shirts using not only copyrighted NFL & NCAA logos, but also on Davidson's template. A lot of people on there, including me have tried to tell him he can't do this. But he insists that he actually has a license to sell NFL merchandise... :cursing:

And they aren't even good concepts, flat images shoved into the template, bad patterns thrown on in haste and he has absolutely zero skill in applying center stripes to the template.

Ya they are awful, he's not exactly a great guy either. He had a "giveaway" the other day, trying to pass off a clear fake Aaron Rodgers jersey as an authentic until me and many others called him out.

  5. interesting situation. im not sure how you'd go about making a uniform based off of pictures like that. if he found a printer/supplier that could i dont know if they even would. i mean you're talking about treading on thin lines with NFL properties. "yea just take the Falcons logo and make a stripe out of it on the sleeves for me". whatever the case i wouldnt give him anything.

i hear a lot of this going on with IG though. i suggest storing your concepts on a place that will provide copyright for them (im not sure how it crosses over with a trademarked logo on it though), like deviantart, Behance, or your own site if you wanted to go that far. then only show teasers, with filters, on IG.

BTW, i do like that Falcons concept. its very cool

I was thinking the same thing, seems like a hard jersey to replicate...for a rec league anyway.

I've always been intrigued by sites like Behance and Dribble, etc. but I don't really know that stuff too well and I guess I kinda like Instagram. I don't get any artistic feedback at all lol but it's a good way to get design opportunities.

And thank you, it's something I made pretty quickly but I like the way it came out.

  6. Ok so I posted my Atlanta Falcons jersey concept on Instagram, and received the following email today:

    "I'm a follower on Instagram.

I am designing a jersey for my team and would like to know if you can send the pants of that jersey. If you can it's ok I understand."

like what? He is flat out telling me that he is going to steal my design? and then asking me to give him more? I'm extremely confused/irritated

He liked your design, and is asking if he can use the pants professionly for a rec-league b-ball team.... I think. I'd ask him what exactly it's for, and see if I could get any cash out of it if I were you personally.

I should've explained more, I only posted the jersey and helmet. I did not post any pants, so he is asking me to post some. I thought about asking him for maybe some possible compensation but what irritates me is that he sounds like he's already going through with the jerseys, he just needs me to give him more...
I'm flattered that he likes my design but this is a bit weird

    it's @football_concepts , thanks for your interest!

  8. In my generally unpopular opinion, the Rams' current navy and gold uniforms are better than their royal and yellow throwbacks. Purely aesthetic.

    Agreed.

I've had partial agreements with this too. So just wondering, do you think a good combo would be their old look in the new color scheme?

  9. I'm probably the only one who feels like these....

    ..are much better than these....

I just miss the Bills red helmet.

Yea sorry but no freakin way.

I agree, that would probably take the cake for THE most unpopular opinion

It's just that if the Bills had a red helmet with current unis, they'd be an upgrade over the navy set no doubt. Just to clarify where my unpopular opinion is coming from.

It's your opinion and I respect it. I just hate the shade of blue from that era, and the current one is beautiful IMO. also the shoulder striping/lack there of from the old jerseys is just awful. But that's why this thread exists, people enjoy different things!

  10. I have no "connection" to the Carolina Panthers besides the fact that 4 year old me thought it would be cool to root for a team younger than he was and picked the Panthers over the Jags because of the color scheme; I've been a fan ever since.

Does this qualify me to be be hated in your world?

    no

I have no connection whatsoever to the Colts, my quasi-fandom in the NFL. I don't see what's wrong with that.

    nothing

  11. Me personally, I am only fans of teams that I have connections to. That would be the Rams, Cardinals, Blues, and Mizzou. I must also admit that I am a partial fan to Oregon, because I dream of designing football uniforms and I have always had some kind of bond to them.

But for me, I hate when people support teams that they have absolutely no connection to. To me, being a fan of a team is great, and part of it is going with the ups and the downs. I feel like people (for example) who liked the Heat when LeBron joined are cheating. I feel like they aren't getting everything out of sports.

These threads seem to pop up once or twice every year. Now to the bolded quotes.

This is what we like to call irony. You hate (strong word, by the way) people who enjoy rooting for teams who they don't have connections to (by connections, I assume you mean local teams and/or teams who have/currently employing family members), yet you admit to have taking a liking to Oregon.

Now, would you hate someone who grew up without football in their city and chose to follow the team his father rooted for and happened to play 1,000 miles away?

    Food for thought.

You could call it ironic but that's why i admitted to it. I hate it, but I realize i partake in it a little bit too. I do have a little bit of connection to Oregon though, 2 of my aunts went there and currently live in Oregon now. So it's not a huge connection but I don't exactly have a huge love for them.

And I know hate is a strong word, I probably didn't mean it that way but I do strongly dislike it. Also, I don't hate the people for being badnwagon fans, just hate the fact that they think they are true fans. (I realize not everyone does this, but I know a lot of people who do).

Also, I wouldn't "hate" someone for doing that, because they have a connection to that team. For one, they don't have a team to directly root for so I can't knock them for liking a certain team. And also, his father roots for that team so there's a connection right there. If you grow up watching a team it's completely different.

My original point was probably presented wrongly. It just irritates me when people act like "true" fans only through a team's success, and could care less when the team sucks.

  13. well I'm not sure whether he has bought these logos from the maker, but here:

    Stolen Saints logo: http://mvptees.com/collections/frontpage/products/kap-copy

    Stolen Eagles logo: http://mvptees.com/collections/frontpage/products/t-dallascopy

    Stolen Jets logo: http://mvptees.com/collections/football/products/packcopy-1

    Stolen Colts logo: http://mvptees.com/collections/football/products/bosscopy

    Stolen Browns logo: http://mvptees.com/collections/football/products/luckycopy

  14. Ok I was just referred to this thread & I can say this is very useful.

I wanna start off by saying that I actually love Instagram. I recently hit 10K on my page & I like posting my work on there, but that's not it.

Believe me, I hate 85% of the people on instagram, they infuriate me. But you have to learn to live with it. I commented on MVPTees page calling him out & i got blocked. Not only does he post our concepts, but he SELLS SHIRTS WITH LOGOS THAT PEOPLE POST ON HERE. <<< that is horrible & needs to be stopped. People like that are horrible for our community & the site, but we need to find a way to stop it. I love the idea of having a private concepts section but I see both sides of the argument.

  15. I don't know if this is helping you above ^ or not, but it's worth a shot. Here's a jersey swap I did of Todd Gurley to Mizzou. For most of it, I used the screen/mulitply techniques to change the jerseys colors, and for the numbers/helmet i took them from different pictures.

If you PM me I can try to help you out.

I don't know what program you are using, but on every software program there is a "cutting" tool. I use GIMP, and on there, I use my mouse to make strokes around the image until I have it all selected, and cut it. I'm not sure how to tell you on anything else, but just search it on youtube.

    Hope that helped
