They’re going into a bye week, so this is an interesting time for them to do this reveal. At Oregon there have only been a few players opt for the conventional pad pockets, so it’ll be interesting to see this year which other schools have them at all and how many players wear them.

Do they offer the same protection compared to regular pads? It just looks like it’s very minimal. I really like the look though

Back before 2015/16, the Ducks used to be on a 3 year uniform rotation. Things were a little out of sorts between 2015/16 and 2019/20, but they’re returning to that 3 year rotation with this uniform set. Wouldn’t shock me at all to see a glimpse at the next uniforms in the bowl game.

Gotcha. Any idea or rumors on what they’ll look like next year? More traditional, or a wing redesign?

What ever happend to the Nike Pro Combat uniforms? I miss having something to look forward too every year. They should bring them back!

Yeah, I’ve heard the same rumors. As much as I like color vs. color, it would be a curious choice in this instance given the color blind issue. Yellow lids and pants would help, and I do think there’s a good chance we’ll see one or both of those with the green jerseys.

Chances it’s a brand new set/template? I’m really hoping for a new template with wings or something to bring that swagger back. It’s been too bland the past few years.

Any chance we ever see Nike make another iteration of the "Nike pro combat uniforms"? I just wish that Nike would come out with a elite set of uniforms for all the major schools. Update the templates, keep it the same across the board, deep research in what to have on the uniform etc.  Would help to create that hype again and show off their new technology every year.

Makes sense! Thanks for your answer. What do you expect for the new set next year? Wings on the shoulders? completely new direction? back to old design but reimagined? what colors? Just wanna build some hype

Did you watch happy hour with the ducks? In july 2020 Kenny farr said there will be all new uniforms next year.

They even had a photo shoot with one of the players in that combo (that’s where the photo I posted came from), which they usually don’t do unless they’re planning on wearing that combo at some point during the season. I’m guessing they had planned to wear that combo during the year, and then decided not to for whatever reason (likely as a result of some player input, as I know the players had a hand in the nightmare green being worn in the Pac-12 CG and Rose Bowl). They’ve shown off that combo in several promotional graphics over the last year, including the graphic for the original 2020 schedule, so I’m hoping they actually wear it at some point this year (if not this week then later this season against UW).

 

Back to the speculation about the uniforms for this week, a few players appeared to be breaking in the new nightmare green cleats at practice yesterday, which could be an indication that they’ll be wearing either the nightmare green or yellow jerseys on Saturday (I would guess the nightmare green) instead of the apple green. If that’s the case then I hope they reprise the yellow/dark green/yellow combo from last year, or at least go with either the yellow helmets or pants.

I’m pretty sure that in a interview with Oregon’s equipment manager he says oregon will have all new uniforms this year.
