    Guatemala Quetzales (Quetzals)

Fresh off the press. The logo for one of the newest NCFL teams the Guatemala Quetzales. The logo and name take note of the national bird of Guatemala, the resplendent Quetzal. The Quetzal is woven intrinsically in Guatemalan culture, starting with our flag and coat of arms which feature the resplendent creature (fun fact but Guatemala is also one of the few countries which feature firearms and/or weapons in their flag), our currency is also named after the creature, owing to the use of Quetzal feathers as currency in Mesoamerican societies. Theres a folk indigenous hero which resisted the Spanish conquistadores, and the bird is said to have its belly turn red as a result of resting on the folk hero's chest covered in blood.

  2. I wanted to say that these are some wonderful concepts.

Honestly I had never seen this thread before 3 hours ago, and I have to say that it is remarkable how I took two concepts of yours. I picked up Toronto Lakers, because a rule in my concept was the stealing of names in all major leagues, so I stole the LA Lakers and put them in Toronto. What is most striking is how we came up with Quebec Lumieres, because I was putting words into Google translate, until lights came out sounding pretty out of a list of over 20 French names.

    Good stuff.

    The Carolina Revolution.

The Carolina Revolution based in Charlotte make notice to the words of famous words of General Cornwallis, which referred to the city as a "Hornet's nest" of rebellion.

Now the cannon featured in the logo is not quite historically accurate as the Blue Jackets make reference to the Civil War. But the cannon is frankly too good to change for "minor" historical inaccuracies. I decided not to change the blue of the Cannon to make note of the blue in the North Carolina flag, which forced me to pick a different color for the C, so I opted to leave it as yellow. I was heavily inspired by the Colorado Rockies in this design.

    The Albuquerque Whiptails

The first logo I made in this series. The Whiptail is a type of lizard that is common to the Southwest, and is the state lizard of New Mexico. A big desire in this series was to include animals from groups that are not well represented such as Reptiles.

The logo features a W and an A on top of each other with the colors of Albuquerque, the A features the long whip-like tail that provides the animal its common name.

The Ciudad de Mexico Cascabeles (Mexico City Rattlesnakes)

Initially I was interested in using the Arizona Rattlers logo, but this proved unfeasible. The logo combines the M from the Diablos Rojos de Mexico, with a Rattlesnake in the form of a C, to make a CM. I would like to touch up on this design latter on, but I dedicated two afternoons to the whole design, so its not high on my list.

The Cascabeles are a relatively new team in the Mexican capital, playing opposite to the Aztecs, the more well known city team. However the Cascabeles have the benefit of playing most of the other Spanish speaking teams in the Mexican states, South Mexico, Guatemala, and Cuba. In soccer its pretty common for the two main teams in a city to cater to different economic, and social classes, and this continues into the NCFL, with the Cascabeles being seen as the Mexican, and common people's team, in contrast to the Aztecs, which enjoy a more affluent fan base. The team was chosen primarily because of its involvement in the Tenochtitlan city founding myth, which said that the city should be founded where an Eagle carrying a snake would land.

  6. After several attempts throughout the years, I've carried my first worldbuilding/league building concept to a position where I feel comfortable sharing what I have. Basically the rules of this concept as were established by 10-11 year old me, was a big NFL. How big? 48 teams big.

The concept is based around a fictional version of American Football,  named "Central Football" which is fairly similar to Canadian Football, which when I was 10 years old, I did not know was a thing.  The name comes from the fact that the sport arose between Canadian Football and Association Football played in Mexico, so in the center of the country. Owing to the fact that the NFL is irl the only truly American league, in this alternate history timeline, it is the opposite with Football being the only international league. For starters the US is really big, including the entirety of Canada, along with several Mexican states (undecided on how many).

Now there are some quirks to this whole thing. The 48 teams are split into 3 4 division Conferences (leagues in their own right), which do not play each other. Similar to the American and National Leagues prior to the 90's, there is no inter-conference games. Playoffs are contested in simple single elimination games in a round of 16, featuring all division winners, a wildcard spot per conference, and a final wildcard team which can be of any conference.

In regards to the naming, I followed some rules: Has to feature my 3 favorite irl teams, (GB Packers, DET Tigers, OTT Senators), as I could not justify a team in Ottawa, they're instead in Washington. It included some of the first team names I came up with (around 30 back in 2010), such as Zebras, Meerkats, Quetzals, Crocodiles, Lions, Falcons. I was allowed to take a select number of team names from irl leagues, such as the Lakers, Jazz, Raptors, Kraken, Stars, Reds, Eagles, Bears. Theres names I'm not entirely sold on, and might be tempted to move them around, if not outright change them, but I'm satisfied with the current lineup.

I have rudimentary wiki building on the league, as well as history (mostly made with 36 teams in mind, not the 48), which could be brought further up in my list of things to do if people would like. My artistic skills are really bad, but I make do, at the moment I have about 5 logos made (mostly from scratch), but no jerseys, but I haven't particularly looked into finding an appropriate template to make them, although I have the concepts in mind.

Now then.... time to fix the worst looking team in the XFL 2.0 and essentially do my take on So Cal Creamsicles post on another topic on here.

Taking @RO_'s colors from his design but adding a bit of personality to the infamous Creamsicles... now where's my paycheck Rocky, I can take six figures (!) easily as much as the monkeys you hired that designed those crapsicles.

By far my favorite in this thread.

  8. I am team Utah Raptors 100%. I enjoy how the logo design makes reference to the Coyotes logo (not the Kalincha one), and how the design of it makes emphasis on the large claw they had. I don't know if I agree to the color scheme on that specific design, perhaps something more desert looking? The skeletons were found in Moab, which is also where Arches National Park is located, so a desert theme wouldn't be odd, although I can understand the desire to refrain from "desert" following the move.

Call them Provo Loons, and we've got a deal tbh.

Realising that the white I wanted to convey was more beige than white... I ditched it and tried again on the ice white.

    Much prefer the white.

As to the Jousters I like everything about it, but not making the shield have the criss cross pattern of the Maryland flag would be a missed opportunity imo. other than that, good stuff.

Team #5... and I feel like this thread's been given the cold shoulder... ironic since this team is from Wisconsin.

Since the Jets are ditching this horrible looking arena football looking circus show, the Blizzard rock it better because they use a good shade of green and I gave them an off white like ice color to go with the green.... well of course silver would of been included if Arena Football allow third looks but I don't think they do.

How many snaps will their star QB get this season?

(I like it although the white/beige that was picked, looks super depressing ngl.)

  11. Great design for the Heritage jerseys. Both just the OKC and the logo with the map are really well done. I imagine the stadium would have something similar like Minute Maid, but rather than a train you have a cart, and some plastic horses.

hey y'all! back at it again. I've had some time off from some things and have been working in the background on a fake league. I don't really have any sort of objective, just going to drop some things into the thread and hopefully y'all can tell me if it's era-appropriate.

    First up,

    Brooklyn Jays

    Founded: 1884

    Design Yr: 1949

Context: The Jays will most likely end up finishing the season champions, but their new president could pose a challenge to the established order. While his focus is not necessarily on the roster (it's one of the best in baseball), there's a sense that he wants to create a new look for the team. Inspired by a set from the 1930's, he wants to bring back the block B and add a better-rendered blue jay. I'm not sure how well this would go over with the fanbase, but the previous logo only exists for about 8 years or so.

If anyone has any notes, please feel free to share, unlike my most recent stuff on here, None of this is anywhere near finished.

    Lovely B logo.

I get that the oversized stripes aren't to everyones taste, so here are the home and road with smaller stripes.

I would probably still choose the larger stripes, but I do like the smaller stripes.

And a road uniform with thick stripes with the black B and gold spokes version of the Bruins logo.

Home and road for the Flames, the striping is now a 1-1-3-1-1 ratio and Blasty is on the shoulder, I wanted him on the jersey, but decided to be subtle about it. Well, as subtle as a fire breathing horse can be. The main motif from the flag of Calgary serves as the Captain's patch, and the hangar effect is Onward, the motto of the city of Calgary. The strap for the home bucket is now white as it was from 1980 to 1994.

    44e268fe9be718e69cf76932d1dabced02efe857

The alternate is a take on the 1998-2007 Blasty uniform, with the main logo having the white outline and black parts removed, to give the effect of Blasty looking out from the shadows. Like the home and road, the jersey uses the itallicised font.

    C+C would be cool.

    Wonderful Alternate design.

  14. I read somewhere that Ohtani is interested in building a time machine come 2050, to take a Sports Almanac edition 2025-2050, to prevent him from signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers who are promptly defeated in Game 7 of the 2024 World Series to the Angels, on their first of a series of 5 consecutive World Series. The money is being actually used to fund the time machine.
