    Can't forget this amazing alternate.

    usp_nba-_denver_nuggets-media_day.2-3_4.

The Nuggets should of made a white uniform and light blue uniform based off these and they could of had an incredible set.

Not to mention, I believe the Nuggets were also the first NBA club to start the trend of simply recoloring the logo instead of designing a new one? Or was it the Pistons? If I remember correctly this was because the NBA began charging something like $500,000 for logo changes?  Of course, of the significant changes the Jazz (twice), Hawks, Wizards, Bobcats, Bucks, Raptors, etc.  followed suit.

That said, the 2003 change for the Nuggets was much better than the original logo from 1993.

The Pistons did it before the Nuggets, they recolored the horse for the 2001-02 season.

How often does the league change templates?  There should be some type of restriction on that as well. If a team has to wait 5 years for a change, Nike should have to wait 5 years to implement a league-wide template change.

That appears to be the timeline Nike follows. Since Nike took over as NFL supplier: Elite 51 2012-2016, Vapor Untouchable 2017-2022, Vapor Fusion 2023-???

At least it would makes sense for Minnesota and any other Upper Midwest team if they did that because of the climate *runs before tomatoes goes my direction*

Yeah but what about when they wear them week 1 in September when its 75 degrees

I’d be shocked if they did, as it would have been added back into the primary logo and it hasn’t been.

Black as a Color Rush alt?  Fair chance.  But the logo still doesn’t jive - I would bet they’ll retain last year’s Blue alt helmet for whatever they do with that uniform.

Prediction:  Barry Sanders-era primary Home & Away sets, longstanding Thanksgiving Throwbacks, and an all-Blue, modern Color Rush uni that works with last year’s Blue helmet.

If your prediction came true I'd be beyond thrilled. The Barry era with the current logo is my dream. I know sadly they're going to force mono white and mono blue in some how. I do hope the thanksgiving throwbacks survive.

I don’t think that’s going to be the case as the coaching staff and on-field apparel has been mainly black for sometime with blackout logos being normal.

Black is simply a popular color for apparel, especially for big guys.

I hope you are right but I'm definitely fearing that they're going to bring black back.

Doesn't it have to so that it's a team color and they can then make the black alt?

That was my thought as well. I thought that was part of the reason Washington shoe horned black into the away uniforms.

They only wore the blue tops a total of two (2) times in their two seasons as the Tennessee Oilers. And both instances were on the road: at Miami and at Dallas. So they wouldn't have much of a connection with these throwbacks anyway.

I've always wondered was there ever an explanation for them wearing white at home those first two years in Tennessee? Besides "heat".

  9. So,  Nike just plans on making the NFL as NBA as possible. I feel like most teams that make a uniform change are going to start having home and road uniforms that are completely different from each other than an alternate that has nothing to do with them as well instead of everything just being a color swap.  I'm absolutely terrified of what the Lions are going to look like when they get new uniforms, I'd rather them just stick to what they have now if they're not going to just go back to the Barry Sanders uniforms with the current logo.

Since a lot of people associate uniforms with players that wore them, would this be considered the “Kerrigan Era Set”?

I'd leave it up to Purdue fans, but I definitely associate them with Kerrigan or Kyle Orton. Even though the Orton uniforms had the logo on the sleeve and numbers on the shoulder.
