Plus their deal is with a wholesale supplier, not with Nike directly. They wont be getting anything custom until this deal ends.

What deal do they have with a wholesale supplier? I wasn't aware they had something like this going on.

Never mind just read up on their deal with BSN Sports.

How long do nike templates usually last? Because this is the first time I've really noticed one and I already want it to go away

Since Nike took over as NFL supplier:

Elite 51 2012-2016 (majority of teams)

Vapor Untouchable 2017-2022 (majority of teams)

    Vapor Fusion 2023-???

My guess is 5 seasons sadly. This new template sucks.

Interesting. The first contemporary account I found was Paul Lukas, who called it chrome. The second was a Detroit TV station, which called it silver. The mothership used neither term, but linked to the site below purporting to be the team, which used neither term.

I forgot about that site when the uniforms were released. When I was at the reveal in 2017 it was called silver. Here's the link from the lions site that calls it silver as well. I definitely thought it was chrome back in 2017 but the more I saw it and seeing it up close in person so many times it looks to be the same silver as the helmet.

To be fair, they call it chrome, in part to tie into the auto industry.

If by they you mean the Detroit lions, then they call it silver, which is what they referred to it as in the official press release in 2017. It's definitely not chrome.

Schedule for the new helmets. Hopefully this means only 2 games with poopy gray uniforms.

One plus of this is it hopefully means they will not be wearing gray on thanksgiving and will hopefully be wearing the throwbacks. The last two years they waited until the final home game to wear them and since the Vikings is the final home game we know they aren't wearing it then.

What? The license plate is white, with blue letters im just saying I think they may be using it to indicate the color of the helmet. Anyways it’s a custom plate and not the official plate for Michigan.

It pretty much is the official plate for Michigan. The default play just has a blue strip at the bottom instead of saying historical

Teams clinching in city jerseys has to stop. But yes nothing will top the Cavs' sleeves.

Like if the Heat clinched in the red alts? I'm fine wit that, but these one year jerseys shouldn't be allowed. At least Denver's is still in their team colors, thank god.

It's not going to stop sadly because Nike is going to make sure those uniforms are worn in games 5-7.

That dog logo is good. I know the designer went kind of crazy with all of the subliminal details, but if you didn't know about them it just is rendered well in general

Better than the CLE that wasn't hidden at all in that tik tok logo.

  9. My guess is they're changing to battle red helmets and/or jerseys and announcing the fuse template at the same time. People saying why change to red when they'll just change uniforms next year need to remember the 2012 Jags and 2019 Chargers each changed they're home uniform color the year before introducing new uniforms.

Or they're announcing they're on hard knocks this year or retiring 99 for JJ Watt.

I still vote no on getting rid of navy as the main helmet/uniform.

As good a run as the Broncos had with the Cyber Horse 1) everything old is new again and 2) you can't stave that off with incompetence.

Denver won back to back Super Bowls in 1998 and 1999. Then they set the record for worst record for a defending champ in 2000 that stood until the Rams prolapsed in 2022. They won another when an all-time great defence carried the burnt out husk of Peyton Manning to a second title, but that was in 2015. It's been eight years and a parade of failed coaches and QBs, the last of which is on a team crippling contract if he can't turn his game around.

Sixteen years of nothing between 1999 and 2015. Eight more years of nothing since, and becoming the joke of the NFL thanks to Russell Wilson's LETS RIDE mantra and bad sandwich commercials. Sooner or later the ratio of bad football to good tips in the bad's favour. And then the classic brand, which is the opposite of the slick Cyber Horse/Nike panelled look, becomes appealing.

Super bowls in 1997 and 1998 and defending champ in 1999. The super bowl is recognized as the year the season is played not the year of the actual Super Bowl game.

Most teams just wear the jersey they're expected to wear. The Cowboys are expected to wear white, so they will wear white if they're home. The rarity is wearing white such as the Steelers and (I think) Bucs did. Pretty Sure New England did in SB20 as well. But that was because they made deep runs playing only on the road and wanted to keep the same uniforms they wore all playoffs long.

New England wore red in Super Bowl XX.
